For anyone that has never worked in a kitchen, please know that cleaning flat tops is REALLY easy. When they rip on people for having dirty ones it is a valid anger. It isn't exaggerated for tv. It literally takes 2 or 3 minutes to have that thing spotless.
@bassbeardiful I used to work at my neighborhood Friendly's restaurant in Fairhaven and I wouldn't punch out until I could see my reflection in the flat top grill so that the next shift could use it and the oil gutter would be spotless as well. It literally takes no more than 2-5 minutes to fully clean a flatop grill and the gutter.
Hell, I once saw on a cooking show here where they dropped some icecubes on still hot flat top and then with a wet cloth they were able to get most if not all the filth off of it

Dishes being sent back because of raw meat, sour sauce and soups, excessive grease, undercooked food, etc. Drinks are being sent back because they're too disgusting to drink as they have a disgusting taste and bugs. Dinner service is a train wreck. Then Taffer and Ramsay do an inspection of the kitchen and walk-in. They find rotten meat, rotten produce, spoiled food, cross contamination everywhere, and mold. And then they find cooked chicken stuffed in a bin with RAW ROTTEN CHICKEN. Both Taffer and Ramsay go ballistic towards the owner(s) and head chef about the major cross contamination of the cooked chicken. The scene ends with Ramsay screaming "YOU'LL FUCKING KILL SOMEONE!" and Taffer screaming "SHUT IT FUCKING DOWN!"

What he does is he has his crew go into some of those places I just mentioned and had them set up surveillance cameras, but to be more specific he does this to all of the bars, nightclubs and pubs or who he thinks is going to be on but ultimately the producers choose only about 1-3 bars per episode and season.

23:28 I have actually had this happened to me. I have major sensory issues when it comes to food because of my autism (condition that there is not fix for, not even really therapy). Because of this, I get most of my food plain. One time, I got a burger and asked for it with just cheese for the topping and that was it. I had a friend that I worked with, and when the bank we worked for downsized, he and his partner decided to open a bar/restaurant. Just walking in on opening night, we could tell it wasn’t going to make it. The area of town was wrong for the clientele, and the vibe was strange (like Confetti’s). I took a bunch of friends there on opening night and they hated it. They were polite to my friends, but told me they would never go back because it was just not hip or fun. I felt bad and just said they had a good time. I know I am the kind of friend who should have told them, but it was opening and I thought it would find a niche…. They ended up closing and losing a ton of money.

23:28 I have actually had this happened to me. I have major sensory issues when it comes to food because of my autism (condition that there is not fix for, not even really therapy). Because of this, I get most of my food plain. One time, I got a burger and asked for it with just cheese for the topping and that was it. Turned out that the cook forgot that and decided to scrape off the mustard they put on. Once I figured out why it tasted odd, I was in the bathroom for 15 minutes sick out of my mind. It truly is such a massive, massive deal. I'm lucky it's a sensory thing for me, cause had I had an allergy or worse condition, I could've gotten incredibly sick
You gotta respect that chef that leaves the kitchen a mess and contaminates every surface.

Also working in a kitchen is ruthless. What chefs without training doesnt realize is that being a chef is 50% cleaning. Any free time isnt free time, its cleaning time.
There's an old saying about free time among chefs while cooking, "If you have time to lean, you have time to clean."

I had a friend that I worked with, and when the bank we worked for downsized, he and his partner decided to open a bar/restaurant. Just walking in on opening night, we could tell it wasn’t going to make it. The area of town was wrong for the clientele, and the vibe was strange (like Confetti’s). I took a bunch of friends there on opening night and they hated it. They were polite to my friends, but told me they would never go back because it was just not hip or fun. I felt bad and just said they had a good time. I know I am the kind of friend who should have told them, but it was opening and I thought it would find a niche…. They ended up closing and losing a ton of money.
