Awesome and just in time since I need a trickle charger and tester. I went ahead and purchased one, Thank you for the review.

So after it has charged for the amount of hours set it automatically continues in a trickle charge state? That's what it seems like mine is doin but I want to be sure
      Thanks

Which function to use first, Repair or Charge ? For example I want to take my 2 year old Varta accu out of my car, do I first need to fully charge it and then use the repair function or do I have to start with the repair function first and after that do a fully charge ? Or will the repair function charge the battery at the same time ?

Can you charge smaller 12v 7Amp batteries for gate motors with this device?

Can you do a long term review of your Pathfinder? Reliability, maintenance, etc?

Thanks for video, an interesting item. Just a couple of comments for you. Your battery in the 2019 Odyssey that you haven't driven in 5 days, the voltage is at 12.2 V - 35% SOC (4:32min) according to the tester. You either drive a lot of short trips so there isn't enough time for the battery to recharge fully or the cars electronics is really draining that battery when parked. What is more of an issue is the result under a cranking test - the voltage dropping to around a range of 7-9 V (5:18 min) this is usually an indicator of a battery approaching replacement, some of it could also be the result of the low voltage. It would have been interesting to see what the cranking test results would have been after the charging was complete.
The other point I noted was related to the battery charging. The charger outputs a max of 5A, and when it reached 100% it was still putting out a 1A to the battery (7:18min) - and that is supposed to be the trickle charge? As I understand it, the trickle charge is supposed to just to top off the battery to to keep it fully charged. That 1A seems high for a trickle charge. I would be hesitant to leave that attached to the battery.

Many trickle chargers put out 1-2 amp. This might go into float mode if it was hooked up to the battery longer.

@@caseytbss ... Thanks for the correction...I have seen battery chargers put out 1A, I just figured the current would drop lower when it reached closer to the 100% charge and when in trickle it would be less than 1A. I guess I didn't adjust for this being a 5A charger.

I've had one for some months and just found that after it charges for the set amount of hours (48 in my case) it continues at low amps and I've witnessed as low as 0.5x or 0.38 or something like that so I guess the trickle charge mode gets pretty low. Not sure if its only to top off but I think it acts as a "maintainer" at one point. I hope I'm right. I like this charger. You got one?

@@adictiveadictive .. I have battery chargers just not the one shown in the review. I have a battery minder (BM)1.5A and a NOCO Genius 5A (NG5) charger. I normally use the 1.5A to charge batteries.. Takes anywhere from 3-6 hours to charge up after which its in a float mode. I don't know the current but i suspect it's < 1A.. the voltage applied is about 13.2 -13.4V. . The NG5.. takes longer because it's using a different charging program than the BM. Its usually almost charged after about 5 hours but then does some optimization top up to full charge . That can take up to 48 hours before timing out. After that it is in an on/off maintenance mode where it turns on when the voltage drops below a threshold 12.7 V and then turns off above a certain voltage.

Friend KW510 can charge the battery with the same connected in the car? Or to charge it you have to disconnect it from the car?

I doubt is working as it should. The below checks were done on an 12V Exide 77Ah (EN 760)
    1. first check shows SOH 81%, SOC 98% RECHARGE-RETEST
    2. second check after 2 hours (nothing done to the battery) shows SOH 83%, SOC 98% RECHARGE-RETEST
    3. started charging the battery. even if it say SOC 98% before, it started from 90% charge which was not correct. Even if it started from 90%, the charging time was short. Which lead me to think in charging mode it's not that accurate.
    4. After it showed 100% charged, I retested the battery, now showing SOH 81%, SOC 98%
5.Rechecking the battery consecutive times is not consistent, SOH values change until the point it says REPLACE.
6.Repaired the battery for 15h. After it completed it shows the same SOH 81% it showed at the beginning.
    7. I can conclude this is just an expensive toy, it doesn't repair anything and readings are not consistent.

Pretty sure you did something wrong on the charging at 5:50
Both the load and idle measured the exact same amount. You should have raised the idle to 10 seconds then pressed enter.
