Ann was a dear good friend of mine. We lost her a few months after I lost my mom. I miss her dearly.

Tuomas wrote this yearning his childhood, but this is perfect for many other situations like most of his music... Great composers and poets do songs that fits situations.
Many comments on this video say they want this to be played at their funeral. This is a beautiful song, it's a shame it is not more well known. But those who find it and like it usually LOVE it.
There were couple og gaspel singers towards the end of the song. Plenty of talent among gospel singers. Goosebumps started early on this video when it was calm and beautiful, and then the build-ups!

That was Anette's 'hidden gem' song, each vocalist has at least 1. Floor's would be 'Our Decades in the Sun', yet to be performed live due to the band not being able to keep it together emotionally. Tarja's has to be 'Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan', the End of an Era performance is exquisite. Tuomas has his own sleeper instrumental 'The Eyes of Sharbat Gula', just make sure you have the picture up when listening (you'll see it).

This one is definitely beautiful. You might also like The Crow, The Owl, And The Dove which is another beautiful Anette song, one in which Troy special-guested with a bit of vocals. For something a little harder, also from the Anette era, how about Whoever Brings The Night, which is also the only Nightwish song composed entirely by Emppu. (Tuomas still did the lyrics.) I have no words to describe or explain my feelings upon hearing this song, Meadows of Heaven. Never heard of it! Never knew it existed. Truly a hidden treasure. As usual, excellent reaction by you! This song penetrated my very core and made me feel shit I can't comprehend and cannot understand. Nightwish has always made me feel things with Tarja and Floor ( my personal favorite of all their singers), but this one blindsided me completely. Keep up the good work my brother, your reactions are spot on. Peace and prosperity.
I think this is not only the best Anette NW song but also the greatest melodic side song of NW catalogue. Anette really nails this one so awesome. Some say that this is the song oin their own funeral as are the songs "Sleeping sun" and "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan".
one of the best nightwish song. no music video never made not hear in concert, i know anette have made this with outside band with choir and violin and stuff (can find you tube). i really hope floor sing this song also. but have to say that anette is queen of meadows. thanx to great reaction and have wonderful weekend.

Rest Calm (with Marko) & Turn Loose the Mermaids are two more superb Annette songs, both from the Imaginaerum album and she's great in the film as well. Talking of which, am I right in thinking Meadows of Heaven makes it onto the soundtrack despite being from a different album?

I'm glad you reacted to this song. A lot of people recommend Scaretale first, and it's a good song, but it isn't her normal singing voice, it's a character voice. I love, love, love this song. It's a great introduction for you.

This is an awesome song. And Anette does it perfect. Because her flaws aren't in the studio. Anyway, this being perfect, I believe it could be taken to another level in the hands of Floor. I think she never sang it, right ? I've always said that Imaginaerum and Dark Passion Play are two of my favorite Nightwish albums.

This is beautiful I admit....but there is another version that is also beautiful...someone did a cover of this....and that was Gregorian Monks...there is a live version done in Germany not sure the date tho. This song brings me back to the innocence of childhood. It's why I love it. I will admit it is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. Decades in the Sun is another.

Annette was perfectly brilliant in the studio on 2 of their best albums, but couldn't cope with the vast amount of touring Nightwish did back then. Her health and vocals suffered.
Ahhh the song about the childhood! The closing song of the Dark Passion Play album. One of my favorites. I always wonder if they are ever going to perform this live again. So epic!
From anette solo album you should listen "lies". It's worth checking out also her project called "the dark element"
Anette truely did some amazing studio work, those who say she didnt, should take a 2nd listen, this is just one example.. this song is one i dont listen to so often, but when i want to hear it, its almost like i have to hear it now!! very beutiful first half, and a powerful finish...

Not a huge Annette fan but I do love this song from her Era.
I also really like "Eva", even since it really untypical for Nightwish. But like always my advice is, only listen to studio versions with Anette.

This song comes from the album Imaginaerium, The Only album that was written for Annet, so all the songs on that album suits her well. There is also a movie made of This album. They are going to play this on my funeral, BUT, the Floor version, in my opinion is her voice just a little more powerful. Anette did a good job, don't get me wrong but Floor's voice ... yeah...
Dont think Floor has ever sang this, which is a shame as its a stunning song. I am not a huge fan of Anette, but she absolultey nails this
Anette is a great singer. She just wasn't Tarja and, stupidly, lots of fans rejected her for this silly reason. But Tarja wouldn't be able to do some if the songs written for Anette, just like Anette couldn't do some of the Tarja's ones...
And then came the goddess of #FLOORGASMS, the best of both worlds (minus the Borg 🖖🏻), capable of singing anything.
This song is almost too much to listen.. sometimes it's a curse to feel so much..
