    how awesome is that!? Odyssey clearly seen having just as much fun as his owner riding him. He absolutely loved having a passenger riding on his back. You could see that not only was he having a blast doing what horses naturally love to do with their owners, but discovering for the first time ever what their role is with their owner. When they find out what their ultimate role is they just reach a whole new level of joy and happiness. It's the best thing to witness happen and it never gets old.

    Sorry to hear about your knee. Elisa mentioned it on her Patreon, and showed the picture. Hope you're on your way to a complete recovery and will be back in the saddle soon.

    Outstanding! Great work with him and an awesome first ride. I do hope your knee injury heals quickly and you can get back on him soon. Bit don't push the knee too much.

      @@eponamustangs Yeah. All the "extra" care of the manly parts isn't fun 😂 I'm a mare fan myself, but I've known a lot of good boys (geldings) in my day too.

      Thank you! I’m familiar with the Jeffery’s method and I lay over all the horses I start bareback, but I’d never thought to do it in motion until I saw Elisa doing it :) it’s a game changer!

    wait is it me or does he have a natural smooth trot??? lol i can't help but also wonder .... but it really does look like he is worried about his owner falling off thus reluctant to canter , lol seriously lol that is what it looks like to me but not entirely sure on that.

    • @eponamustangs
      @eponamustangs  3 месяца назад

      His trot is very smooth!! He is likely just figuring out how to balance with weight on his back and not sure how fast he can go

    • @suzanneyoung8011
      @suzanneyoung8011 3 месяца назад

      @@eponamustangsdoes it work if you slap him a little or nudge him a bit on his belly (while you're on the ground) to get him to retract it? You may not want to do that at this stage in his training, but I've seen that done at the racetrack to get a stallion's mind back on training. I visited a stud farm in Kentucky, and the groom did the same thing on a breeding stallion that he was showing me. I also think that sometimes the stallions (and maybe geldings too) are more prone to do that around women because I think they can sense the hormones. They'll also do the Flehman response.
