    End-to-end encryption is a security feature implemented in Facebook Messenger to protect the privacy of communications.
    If your phone or tablet is lost or stolen, removing it prevents unauthorized access to your private conversations.
    And if you've used Messenger on a shared device (like a public computer or a friend's phone), removing it ensures others can't view your chats.
    There may be many reasons to logout or remove a device from messenger End-to-end Encrypted chat.
    You can remove one or more devices from your end-to-end encrypted chat. Remember that you can't remove the device you're currently using.
    🔶STEPS🔶
    To remove a device from Messenger End-to-end encrypted chat,
    1. First, open the Messenger app on your mobile phone or tablet.
    2. After that, tap on three horizontal lines and then again tap on the setting icon to open your Messenger profile.
    3. Now, scroll down and tap on "Privacy & safety". This opens all the settings related to privacy.
    4. From here, find and tap "End-to-end-encrypted chats".
    5. And again, tap on "Security alerts".
    6. Now, tap on "View all logins". Here you'll see a list of devices that have access to this end-to-end encrypted chat.
    7. Review and select the device you want to remove. It displays the last seed time, secret conversation key, and registered date.
    8. Now, swipe up to that pop-up screen. Now, you will able to see "Log Out".
    9. Tap on "Log out" to remove that device from your end-to-end encrypted chat, and again tap on "Log out" to confirm the process.
    Remember that you can't remove the device you're currently using.
    Removing a device means it won't have access to past or future messages in that chat. You can only remove devices you've personally used for Messenger.

      Removing a device from an end-to-end encrypted chat can take some time to update across all devices.
      Sometimes, when removing a device, there might be a glitch. Could you try clearing your Messenger app cache and restarting your phone? If that doesn't work, you can also try logging out of your friend's chat on the device you want to remove and then restarting Messenger.

    How do you remove or clear the list of All security alerts, thank you

    • @techunow
      @techunow  4 месяца назад

      To clear the list of all security alerts and remove any unwanted device logins, you can follow the steps outlined in the video. Essentially, you'll want to log out of all devices except your primary one. This helps ensure that your Messenger chats remain secure and only accessible on your trusted devices.

    Why i can't log out, there's is no log out button after you swipe up?

    • @techunow
      @techunow  5 месяцев назад

      Logging out of Messenger depends on whether you're using your primary or currently active device. If you're on your primary device or the one you're currently using (like an ABC device in your case), the logout option won't appear after swiping up. You can only log out of secondary devices (like your computer or other device except currently using), and you should find the logout option accessible there. I hope this helps you!

    What does “last seen” mean? Is that the last time someone chatted with someone in a secret conversation or the last time they used the app?

    • @techunow
      @techunow  5 месяцев назад

      'Last seen' on Messenger generally indicates the last time someone was active on the app, not specifically when they interacted in a specific chat or secret conversation. This could mean they opened the app, interacted with a notification, or sent/received messages. However, it's important to remember that 'last seen' isn't always accurate and can be delayed.

      Last seen in Messenger end-to-end encrypted chats function similarly to non-end-to-end encrypted chats. It indicates the last time the user was active on Messenger, regardless of whether the chat is encrypted or not. @@jenniferzack7344

      Removing a login device won't remove the conversation itself. However, if you're accessing the same chat from another device without entering a PIN code, your old messages may not appear on that device. It's crucial to use PIN code to access to your messages across devices.
