I Looked up DFW to Rome the other day and it was $1800, but JFK to Rome was $750. I know I can get to JFK from DFW for a lot less than $1050. Sometimes layovers can really pay off
I know it’s unrelated but I tried that Peameal and bacon sandwich in the st Lawrence market , Toronto. YOU WERE SO RIGHT !! BIG THUMBS UP !
Its so good!!!
This is also practical for flights within the US. You can choose 2 airports other than the ones closest to you and potentially save THOUSANDS of dollars.
It's so easy to travel in Europe by train. I wish we had that here in the US. I live in DFW and luckily it's easy to find direct flights to a lot of places.
We usually fly from Manchester Airport (MAN) but we consider Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) too 🙂
I was spoiled living many years in the Washington, DC, area, with three airports, including BWI, as well as DCA and IAD. After I moved to the Philadelphia area, it was just PHL for my trips. Until this year. The airport just outside of Trenton, NJ, TTN, has been adding service over the past decade or so. Yes, it's currently only Frontier, not one of the most-loved airlines, and you go out to the tarmac instead of through jetways. But it served us well. We live north of the city. People in other directions have gone on flights from Allentown and Wilmington.
The Flightradar app even labels TTN as Philadelphia.
One of the biggest issues in having is how to get between spain and portugal! I was hoping for a train but it looks like it's only bus or plane.
Good to know. Surprised there would not be a rail link.
20 years ago I knew people in Cincinnati who drove to Indianapolis to fly. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but apparently the airport fees in Indy were much cheaper than Cincy that it was worth the drive to save on flights.
Exactly! Could not find an affordable flight to Oslo or Bergen, so i found a bargain to Copenhagen. The amount saved will pay for a rental car, now I get to see Copenhagen for 2 nights and even Sweden on my drive to Norway! 3 countries for the price if 1!
I've been with Ryanair from Liverpool to Krakow in Poland and I came back to Liverpool with easyJet from Krakow.
I've also been from Manchester with easyJet to Prague 🙂
Tampa is expensive for flying Internationally. I always have to do a positioning flight from Miami, Boston or New York to save money!
"Open Jaw" flights are also worth considering for saving time and / or money...
"Open Jaw" flights also save on back-tracking...
I've don MEL-SIN-AMS in one direction, CPH-SIN-MEL returning...
(It was cheaper & had no back-tracking)
I live in West Palm Beach. Flying to Michigan never seen flights under $300 from PBI I flew once for $39.50 round trip from FLL
When I lived in Northwest Indiana I would fly to Duluth from MDW. Once when flying back I decided instead to use the rental car I needed in Duluth anyway to drive a little over 2 hours to Minneapolis. I also got a hotel for the night because the flights didn't time out quite as the same. What would have been a $935 flight became $215 and a $75 hotel stay. Sure it cost me a little time but I got to enjoy Minneapolis which I had not yet been to.
Wolter's world was right! Like Alex
I really need to look into this since I’ll be visiting different places and we are first timers visiting Europe, we plan to visit
Edinburgh,Glasgow,Cologne , Amsterdam, Praga and Vienna
If you can avoid it, don't fly into Glasgow. The flights are super expensive. We usually fly into London and drive there but it's a 6 hour journey. Alternatively, you can take the train from London to Glasgow which was what my sister always do. When looking into flights, try the multi-city option too, they can be cheaper compared to buying them one by one. I hope that helps.
I did that when I went to Atlantic City NJ to run the Atlantic City Marathon. The local airport was prohibitively expensive so I flew to Philadelphia and took a train from the Philly airport to downtown and then got on an Amtrak train to Atlantic City that was cheaper than the airport connector train.
I didn't think Amtrak went to Atlantic City these days. Are you sure you didn't go on a New Jersey Transit (NJT) train? Or was this a while back when Amtrak did serve Atlantic City?
DTW is horribly expensive to fly from/to... for international flights, I now look at ORD and YYZ as well. Toronto is ALWAYS cheaper and the 4 hours each way with border crossing is usually worth it.
Yes but it's could be a trade off with time, money, frustration for the extra traveling you have to do to get to your final destination. .
So true if fly to cebu you can go manila for 250 euro less. Then go cebu
Be aware that those airports Can be far from cities. Brussels "south" for Ryan Air is actually near... Charleroi lol.
🎉 yes but Lapland Finland was only $14 usa to go to from there. Huge win. I like that airport. They even let you sleep there.
In India, we have travelling YT channel called "naa anveshana" is similar like you but he makes videos in our local language called "Telugu". Hope you both meet soon and make a travelling vlog.
❤❤❤
Hey Mark, when is the next live stream?
If i havd a few beers it may be tonight
@@woltersworld I’ll buy it with my superchat😂
I"m sorry, but when I travel convenience is a big deal for me. It's worth the extra money to be able to get to my place to stay from the airport. I don't want to travel anywhere from another 40 minutes to another 2 hours from the airport to get there.
For me Mark, this usually does not work out. The hassle of landing at odd hours, lack of transport, expensive taxis into city and inconvenient far away locations all negate the savings I get by going budget. It's often cheaper to book Heathrow to Charles-De-Gaulles instead of Stansted to Orly 😂. I land in the city and a short cheap bus ride/uber to the hotel. This was my experience on most travels. Budget flights is basically buying a bunch of unnecessary life-consuming travel annoyances.
Tbf he has made that point before about budget airlines. You can still fly into those airports early and in my experience most European airports have decent transport options. All depends on circumstance and where you stay. Makes a lot of sense when it comes to major European cities, plus, the budget airports aren't as likely to be busy so less time in security
🎉yes. Christians always go to Israel from USA wasting thousands of dollars. Easy way is to fly to Europe. Then take cheapest Europe to Israel. I watched someone spend $4000 for a 10 day trip. Way too much money
