Located between Craven Arms and Church Stretton stations, on the Welsh Marshes line. As of August 2021, this crossing has the last remaining vertical 'traffic-light style' warning light (wigwag) at a crossing in the UK, with a vertical arrangement of two red lights, with an amber light in the middle. The lights comprise of LED modules, but the warning light assembly remains original when this used to be a Forest City manufacture with halogen lights. In addition to the four other lights, there are two loud alarms and four barriers which were installed in 2018. The Marshbrook signal box is still operational and is where this crossing is controlled and monitored from. The surrounding area still uses semaphore signalling on the line.
    Thanks For Watching!

Would there be a horizontal light in the UK? 🔴🟡🔴 The three balls look like that.

I love level crossings like these! Beautiful crossings in scenic countryside locations, retaining the style and design of the olden bygone days and furthermore, each crossing will probably still have it's own unique characteristics and catch the eye of local artists too. ;-)

Yeah I agree. Some are in really scenic locations and are very rural. I guess the location also adds to how each crossing is unique to another.

Across the UK, apart from the Marshbrook Level Crossing, the only other places that have vertical wigwags are the Minffordd Level Crossing in Wales (the only one to reuse Mellor traffic lights) and the Kingsferry Swing Bridge at the Isle Of Sheppey in Kent.
However, Lincoln High Street Level Crossing used to have one as well on that driveway from the car park, but that's now gone and replaced with a standard landscape wigwag opposite the driveway since the level crossing got upgraded in the late 2000's.

Thanks 😎 I don't believe these lights are supposed to exist or be used at crossings in the UK. There were a few of these light designs around in the 1990s and 2000s, but they've since all been replaced. This is the last remaining one in England. It seems that the layout would need to change for a different light to be fitted here, as there is very limited space because of the side road.
