They are indeed true gifts and great source for better understanding this century crisis. All their works are highly recommended to see both perspectives as well as the role that the Western countries play in such an intricate reality.
How well this lecture has aged. It currently feels as if Israel is busy with their own "final solution." after October 7, 2023 attacks. I do not believe the Israeli state was caught by surprise in perhaps the most surveiled place on earth where Hamas' attack was planned. I believe they knew exactly what would happen, but that the sacrifice of a few Israeli lives would be justification to wipe Gaza from the map. I would not put it past the Netanyahu regime. Only 8% of Palestinians have the unique genetic Levantin markers, shared by Jews, Assyrians, Samaritans and a few others. Those 8% are likely jews that converted (forced conversions were implemented in that land pretty much for most of the 2000 years it was ruled by conquerors, untill Israel implemented freedom of religion within its borders. I agree that 1400 years is a long time and its irrelevant, I just don't see why some people think they need to distort facts and history in order to somehow "strengthen" the Palestinian claim, their claim is strong enough without it.

How well this lecture has aged. It currently feels as if Israel is busy with their own "final solution." after October 7, 2023 attacks. I do not believe the Israeli state was caught by surprise in perhaps the most surveiled place on earth where Hamas' attack was planned. I believe they knew exactly what would happen, but that the sacrifice of a few Israeli lives would be justification to wipe Gaza from the map. I would not put it past the Netanyahu regime.

There is no time limit in the definition of colonialism so the British will always be considered colonialists in Australia. Palestinians want a 2 state living in peace, but Israel wouldn’t allow that despite all the propaganda they show to the world because living in peace with Palestinians and the neighbouring Arab countries would be a threat to their existence. Israel thrive on the conflict and it’s making sure the conflict will stay forever. Read the history of what the Jews did in the 30’s and 40’s to the Palestinians, and for them trying to portray to the west that this land is just a desert full of malaria, and nothing else to justify their choice to settle there, when it wasn’t true, Palestine was a thriving land with its people. To me some Israeli are emotionaly imbalanced, unable to see justice and humanity in wielding its military force. Sadly, I see the predicment of Palestinians are similar to those of Chinese during the 19th and 20th centuries, ravaged by invaders.
Their culture and thinking are inward seeking like Chinese; hence science and technolog were not emphasized, resulting in week military strength.
