MAN MY HEART RACED WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATIONS, though I didn't make it to be critiqued, I learned from this video, and actually hyped to see another challenge, I would love to join! (BAHAHA! ATLEAST I SAW MY YONKOMA AT 0:19) (Drakey)
Disappointed I didn't make the cut but at the same time, I'm well aware I still have a long way to go when it comes to my art style and drawing technique. Ive been drawing since I was 13 (27 now) but the first time I tried to make a manga a couple years ago it became pretty obvious I wasnt as good as I needed to be nor did I ever take drawing as serious as I should have and needed to practice drawing things I wasn't so comfortable with. This channel has been a really big help for me and I will say, the worst thing anyone could do when they feel like they're not good enough at something they're passionate about is give it up. Sometimes it helps to go back to the basics and rebuild from the ground up. I just wanted to speak some encouragement to the others who submitted a yonkoma but weren't featured in the video. This was a learning experience and a small but significant step for everyone! Also congrats to those who were featured!
Hey Learn To Draw Manga, I just wanted to say, these types of vids help me lot especially because actual drawings are shown along with the advice... which helps us look at the comparisons and understand more... So, I'm looking forward to more of these in the future! Am not 18 yet so sadly I don't know what to do or anything- Really, appreciate these vids. Thank you. ❤
I was thinking about that because it's how it actually happened, but i feared it would have been to much of a jump between panels. Also I wanted the last panel to be a return to the shop as a conclusion. Result of that would be to much juggle between scenes in just four panels. That's why I moved punch line in front of a shop.
*NYAHAHA!* After these 4-koma Manga Challenge, a new challenge concludes. Especially for those who did not get picked for the video and crushed as me. The challenge is to *never give up!* Are ya' up for the challenge? >:3
Congrats to all who participated! 🎉 I was not as prepared as I thought, but for the next challenge I will be ready, thank you for helping to reignite my inner artist flame! 🔥🎨🙌
Yall gon make more small challenges like this in the future? Was rlly fun participating even if my yonkoma wasnt featured. Anyways thanks for this challenge atleast :D
Great video on the break down of the entries. These kind of videos are more helpful then some tutorials out there. I'm certain there are a lot of viewers like myself that would like to see more content like this!
This was a really fun challenge! It's good practice and I enjoyed the process and the experience, no regrets here 😊 Also good job to all the participants who made it 👏 😁 ❤
A question to you, can I make yonkoma with only pencil and paper for practicing? Because it will take more than a year for me to buy the digital supplies. It's just for practice more than actual drawing. And I don't want to use traditional inking supplies.
im sure you can!, in the original challenge video they mentioned the opcion of using digital like if the standard was making it in traditional, i think these yonkomas end up being all in digital only of coincidence.
@@3.z68 I saw a lot of people make their yonkoma's in traditional on Instagram, and since manga was originally made with traditional, I don't think there will be any issues doing it that way, altho, it might be a bit harder since if you mess up on something it wont be as easy to fix haha.
I have a question about the number of panels on a page. Does anyone know if the number of panels on a page, is linked to the speed of what's happening in a particular moment, or is the number of panels used to give more of a cinematic feel to the current story, and the number of panels on the page just happens to be the amount on the page? Are more panels suppose to be used when characters are talking or explaining events? Are fewer panels used for quick/decisive movements? Is it one scene per page? It might just be because I have just started, but there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for the number of panels. I wont ask for clarity on why they are the shapes they are. From what I have been seeing, it seems to be the size of the panel is to cinematically fit the angle of what's going on and the number on the page just happens to be the number on the page. An answer to the above would be appreciated Thank you
@@birudagreat1427beginning, middle and ending is more Western Three-act structure. It's similar, but conflict and climax are separated and have more weight for the story.
Maaf saya tidak boleh berbahasa inggeris tapi saya ada soalan. Manakah lebih mudah untuk membuat manga? Melukis manga secara digital atau diatas kertas? (Translate)
I wish there was one too, but they probably don't want to make one because it would take focus away from their main course. (just a possible reason) plus they are a pain to manage

For submission 2 it would funnier if the character realized he forgot to buy coffee when he was already home and looked at the empty coffee jar

What tech platform are you using to edit these?
Is ki, sho, ten, ketsu, the same as beginning, middle, climax, and ending? 🤔
swap out middle for conflict
@LonelyGuy-xr3qh I'm more used to the saying begining middle and ending since the middle means the conflict and the climax of the story
@@birudagreat1427beginning, middle and ending is more Western Three-act structure. It's similar, but conflict and climax are separated and have more weight for the story.
So it's not very different, but not exactly the same
