    It is a very valid question. Mike wasn't physically there for most of his son's life, which probably had a negative effect on him. He was young and didn't know much better, so I don't blame him. But, you can't tell me that it didn't affect his son. Being there physically is more valuable than any amount of money or phone calls or weekend visits. It doesn't mean that his son wouldn't have still wound up in drugs, but Mike being there could have changed his son's trajectory. I would definitely feel some guilt.

    The therapist asked my Uncle the same question when my cousin died. And he said he did, what he said still gets to me "I'm his Dad, I'm suppose to protect him," and he was nowhere near him when it happened, it wasn't his fault, at all...and to know he felt that way...was/is heartbreaking. There was nothing he could have done.

    Being in contact does not replace being present. He may not be directly responsible, but Michael definitely could have made more of an impact if he was more involved in his son’s life. If Michael had another son that was worse, it’s time to maybe consider that he was a bad parent.
    Parents put too much responsibility on the children especially in the Black Community. Parents need to take a heavy roll in shaping their children.

    • @MyDave22
      @MyDave22 3 года назад +5

      @Jay Boogie his son didn’t leave the nest, Michael left him and was gone. It’s all about the context. Michael is saying he was absent in his child’s life. His child also appeared to have grown up in a bad environment. Male presence even more important in those situations. That’s what most of Vlad’s guest say is they grew up in bad environments without a father so they jumped into the streets. Where am I wrong on that?

    • @agentmartagentmart9122
      @agentmartagentmart9122 3 года назад

      Using that same logic. What if the same happened to Michael when he was a kid ???

      @@agentmartagentmart9122 Michael grew up without his father. He was involved in many extra curricular activities as he has stated in other interviews which kept him out the streets. Not to mention he became an actor.
      Lastly, everyone is different. People respond to things they way that they know is best especially when they don’t have guidance or a small amount of it. Nothing can replace a parent that is there to watch over their child and provide discipline and instruction.
      As I said, Michael may not be “directly” responsible, but his absence played a role in his son’s development.

    How can MJW see this title and take this questioning and want to come back? These guys are so desperate to make money off Vlads platform, they go for it. This one seems a bit tacky but you can't fault vlad for asking because they answer and therefor make him money.

    At a certain point a person has to do the right thing for themselves despite what they parents did or didn't do for them. But I think that MJW shares blame for his son because "we grew up together" when referring to raising your child is code for I wasn't there, or I was there but I hardly did anything right. The streets raised his son.
