Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
Notice the specific reference to "mint, dill, and cumin", not money. Mosaic Law was in place when Jesus was addressing the Pharisees as hypocrites and under Mosaic Law tithes were either accepted from the tithe of the herd and/or the tithe of the land. There's no such thing as a biblical tithe received from earned wages.
The problem with teacher CW is that he has no idea that the Mosaic law was in place when Jesus was teaching that portion of scripture but after Jesus died on the cross, we were set free from the curse of the law. This is very clear in the early church we don't see Paul , Peter or any apostle collecting or advocating for Tithe. Our giving is based on 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Only problem with you teacher is that you teach heresy. That is God the father changed to Jesus. This is modalism and it has been dealt with by the early church fathers. You need to be informed more to preach, especialy since you go against fundamenta christian doctrine of a triune God
