They are only restored if it is worth it, so not in ruins , because the majority of the ruins of castles and other mansions in France will remain in ruins for a long time, as long as the specifications are not revised downwards to restaure it .

it is actually impossible to properly restore it because of the fire that happened. Fire to stone is like rust to a boat. It changes the stone on a molecular level. so just saving it is the best you can get and very worth it.
why so much dramatism for an old big oligarch's house? i mean it's rlly beautiful ofc. but it's not like this castle was built by good king who loved his ppl.
I can tell you that when the fire broke out, it was when the family was preparing for a grand party. This means guests travelled by carriages for miles, to stay for a days-long event. It was known as rather a party house. Anyway, when the fire broke out, the family and servants hustled to push all the family precious items to the windows and they pushed them out the windows and into the moat. Trust, that moat has been drained and pillaged many a time
It is not impossible but they will need to focus on a small part at a time, fix that & move on when all the essentials in that area are done to ensure its survival. First stop the tree roots from doing further damage. Make small repairs to the chapel roof. Assess the gatehouse & look at repairing the gatehouse roof.

C'est pas le château repris par une association ils le restaure actuellement
l'association n'a pas l'intention de le restaurer mais de le maintenir en l'état ; une honte !
