There were dragons when I was a boy. There were great, grim, sky dragons that nested on the clifftops like giant scary birds. Little, brown, scuttly dragons that hunted down the mice and rats in well organised packs. Preposterously huge sea dragons twenty times as big as the big blue whale and who killed for the fun of it. You will have to take my word for it, for the dragons are crawling back into the sea from whence they came, leaving not a bone, not a fang, in the earth for the men of the future to remember them by. So, in order that these amazing creatures should not be forgotten, I will tell this true story from my childhood. This is the story of becoming a hero the hard way.
My cousin, a violinist, got married this year. Being a college graduate, a professional violinist, she has many friends who also play instruments. Friends that are also professionals. She walked down the aisle to this piece. It was breathtaking.

I was 9 when this movie came out. I’m now 19, going on 20 in a few months. This trilogy and it’s characters have grown up with me, and I couldn’t have been happier to have seen them.
I am 16, and these movies were my whole childhood. I was honestly shocked to find out my friend had never heard of them... I am so glad I grew up in a family that showed me the classics!
When I was about 6, I used to be obsessed with this movie. It was like nothing I had ever seen. But I didnt know why. It got to the point where I used to watch this movie and the sequel everyday. I drew these character nonstop, (mostly Toothless). It was just magical. It felt like it was made just for me. One day, when I was younger, I found a black rock in my garden. To another 6 year old, it would of just been another rock. But my younger self was convinced that it was a night fury egg. I told my younger sister that on my 7th birthday, it would hatch. She believed me. I believed. About a year goes by, and it didn't hatch. By that time I was less obsessed with httyd, but it was still disapointing. We had even built a nest out of grass for it! What did we do wrong? Over time, I forgot about httyd even more. Eventually, years passed, and I was into other stuff. One day, a couple years ago, I stumbled across the movies again, now with the 3rd movie. I think those movies changed me. I was so blown away by the soundtrack, visuals, and everything else around that. It opened my eyes to what a film could be. I understood why little me loved it so much. Long story short, it got me into art and composing. Even though that egg never hatched, something hatched inside of me: the true meaning of art. I hope that one day, I to can create something someone will look back on, and think "that changed me." I know I'm only young, but I also know that I'll do great things in life. And you will too. Be the best of you, and people may be understand why your being so optimistic. But good things will happen to you. Just wait and see, and soon you will soar! Thank you, httyd, for being one of my favourite trilogies of all time, and inspiring me to be me.
Very long so im sorry. But when I was 6-7 this movie came out. I compared myself to hiccup, rolled around my dad's apartment like Astrid. My 8th bday party it was HTTYD themed, played with the toothless cake topper and still have my blanket to this day. In 2019/2020 my dad got sick from heart issues. I made a joke how much my dad looked like adult hiccup and looking at his teen pics hes like.. him. January 2020 a week or two before my bday my dad passed. Now When I watch these movies, i see my dad and myself. I see our strengths, i see his creativity (which he gave to me), I see his carefree self. I might not have been with my dad since middle school, but damn do I still see him in everything. I miss you dad, i hope you are able to live free
HTTYD always makes me think of my dogs, I think its because the relationship the people of berk form with their dragons is very reminiscent to the relationship we form with dogs irl.
Someone out there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remenber me in about 5 years about this. On my Wedding Day i want to walk down the aisle to this! And nothing else!
This soundtrack makes me emotional in a good way. It brings back so much memories of when I was still a baby and didn't understand how much of a good movie this was
I'll be honest. This is my favorite movie ever created and it gives me chills every single time I watch it. The animation, music, everything is just.. perfect. I cannot express in words my love and gratitude for this trilogy.
I played this in Marching band one year. That year, the theme was "Red Sky" (red sky at night, sailors delight, red sky at morning, sailors take warning). That same year, we won every competition we went to, including state, and even regional. It brings me back to when I used to want to wake up every morning excited to go to practice, play music and be one with some of my favorite people on earth. Nothing made me happier than being with my friends, my marching band family.
because, love never dies, what is within is more important than what is without, the best is not always he most obvious, and once you've loved truly, thor, then you know the way.
I didn’t just watch this trilogy as a child. It was my childhood. I really loved this trilogy, and IMO, is one of the BEST animated film series every created. I will definitely be showing my kids these. I absolutely loved this. Chills everytime, man. Thank you!
Oh dude! HTTYD was such a big part of my childhood. I haven't watched it in years or listened to any of the soundtracks whatsoever but when I clicked on this video and the music started playing I immediately remembered all of it and hummed to the music through the entire video. Now I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes while thinking back to my childhood when HTTYD was the biggest thing for me and my friends besides Star Wars. 😢
When I was ten and went to see this movie. I didn’t care for movies at all no feelings or chills but this movie is what changed it all for me. At a young age it taught me to appreciate such great animation and story plot.
Whenever I hear this I drop a view tears, thinking back of when they just met and when they were going sepperate ways to raise children of their own...
I really woke up out of a dead ass sleep to look this up cause I heard this song in another post and couldn’t remember it for the life of me until in my dead ass sleep I remembered it 😭
This is pure nostalgia. If I could go back in time to witness this, I wouldn’t care if I didn’t have a phone. I would enjoy my life to the fullest in a place like that. This song tells us everything that we need to know about living there. I’m having my children watch this when I grow older. I’ll have them witness each amazing experience that this has brought us. I thank everyone who has created this.

I hope you still have a hold of that rock. That was a piece of your life.
Damn bro, hope your dad is safe somewhere else
@@why-ue1tu thanks bro, he probably is
HTTYD was everything it needed to be emotional, heartwarming, encouraging and overall an amazing trilogy 💜
This music really made me cry 😭 also excited
I started crying listening to this..this was a big part of my childhood and i will never forget it.🥺
Same
Why
Ah
HTTYD always makes me think of my dogs, I think its because the relationship the people of berk form with their dragons is very reminiscent to the relationship we form with dogs irl.
I honestly belive HTTYD is THE best animated trilogy ever made.
Agreed.
"Best DreamWorks movie?"
* looks between shrek and httyd *
* slowly walks towards httyd *
Sorry I just-
Yeah me too 🏃🏻♀️
Shrek had one strong movie. HTTYD has a strong story.
* remembers Prince of Egypt was a thing * ...
It truly is the year of Scotland with this and pokemon sword and shield.
Yup
Someone out there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remenber me in about 5 years about this. On my Wedding Day i want to walk down the aisle to this! And nothing else!
i have goosebumps everytime I'm listening to this, 0:38 this part gave me serotonin
This soundtrack makes me emotional in a good way. It brings back so much memories of when I was still a baby and didn't understand how much of a good movie this was
I feel u so much man
“It’s just a kids’ dragon movie, don’t go too hard on the soundtrack”
The musicians:
"Its just a kids dragon movie"
Me crying coz its too good to end😢
This is one of the best background music I've heard. Makes me emotional. Reminds me of their first flight together and the goosebumps I had.
Its so great
I'll be honest.
Sounds epic.
because, love never dies, what is within is more important than what is without, the best is not always he most obvious, and once you've loved truly, thor, then you know the way.
In all, This movie along with Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Brave and Lion King will forever be my favorite movies including the soundtracks.
Blessed to say HTTYD was a big part of my childhood…17 and still obsessed with it ❤️
I didn’t just watch this trilogy as a child. It was my childhood. I really loved this trilogy, and IMO, is one of the BEST animated film series every created. I will definitely be showing my kids these. I absolutely loved this. Chills everytime, man. Thank you!
Legendary…just breathtaking. Truly a 10/10 trilogy with an emotional and beautiful soundtrack.
Agreed!!
It’s crazy that this series is going to be 15 next year. It’s crazy that I have lived to see a movie series that I love go this far.
My childhood is happy right now listening to this theme song it brings me nostalgic memories.
HOLY SHIT. I've wanted a high quality of this suite for almost a year. Thank you.
Definetly a master piece of movies; and I can't wait for Httyd 3.
Better movie than pretty much every Disney movie
I had my headphones on WAY too loud when this started, and it has Killed my ears.
In the *MOST EPIC* way POSSIBLE!!
There are those arrangements that are so full and beautiful - tears come to my eyes…this is firmly in that wonderful group!
0:40 it’s remind me the soundtrack of Ice Age ❄️
Ah coming back just to listen to this beautiful masterpiece, gives me nostalgia.
Dislikes stand at 8....who are these people?.....this is fantastic! We need to hunt these 8 down and.... Educate them!

You're Right Sir_Die Hard Fan 🇲🇾 Toothless Here

15. Where did these people go to school?
I was like 6 or 7 when this thing came out I’m so blessed for having that as a kid
When I was ten and went to see this movie. I didn’t care for movies at all no feelings or chills but this movie is what changed it all for me. At a young age it taught me to appreciate such great animation and story plot.
I need this soundtrack in the Live Action in the Flight Scene
Whenever I hear this I drop a view tears, thinking back of when they just met and when they were going sepperate ways to raise children of their own...
"Hey Hans, we're making a silly dragon movie. Just give it a go, doesn't have to be too big."
Hans Zimmer:
Hans?
I really woke up out of a dead ass sleep to look this up cause I heard this song in another post and couldn’t remember it for the life of me until in my dead ass sleep I remembered it 😭
Best soundtrack of the history of animation ❤
I tryed to find a good quality version of this song thanks for uploading this!
Sure thing, I hope you liked it!
Dimixer i really like it ;)

1:21 Those violin running sixteenths 😩😩
This is pure nostalgia.
If I could go back in time to witness this, I wouldn’t care if I didn’t have a phone.
I would enjoy my life to the fullest in a place like that. This song tells us everything that we need to know about living there.
I’m having my children watch this when I grow older.
I’ll have them witness each amazing experience that this has brought us.
I thank everyone who has created this.
congratulations on making a mix so good that ~99% of the comments don't even notice it's an edit
