Loved the tour of the Ford home. Boy that was the grand life. I sure wish I had lived back then instead of now. The rich people in those days had a lot more class than the rich people these days.
Awesome video Tony! Thanks much for the tour of Henry's estate. The interior wood- work left me speechless. Makes one wonder what it must have been like back in that era. When I think about what he accomplished back in those times...I can only wonder.
Tony, I really enjoyed the tour of the Ford Estate. Beautiful home, grounds, and especially Clara's rose garden. So calm and serene. Looking forward to Part 2.🇨🇦
@@tonyscarcare5657 Oh cool! Where is that Town East Ford located? You'd think that they'd have to pick a dealership name that wasn't already being used elsewhere in the country. lol
@@tonyscarcare5657 My apologies, I wasn't clear when I initially commented. One of the plaques at the entrance to the Ford Estate said the name of a local dealership to me. You read off a couple of them and before the camera panned away I caught Town East Ford and got excited. I apologize for the miscommunication.
Please let me know when u do and also its a 89 in Hammond indiana midnight blue with factory roof cd player it just dont have leather seats 120,000 miles on it and its rag top real clean no rust
What a magnificent mansion. I'm glad it got preserved and can only imagine what the grounds likely looked like in its heyday. Probably many flowers and gardens, more so than now. Also the fireplaces blazing in a cold Michigan Winter. I have added this to my bucket list that may never get completed.
So lovely. Could you imagine the car conversations that went on in that house? Just the history gives you goosebumps. Is her personal Lincoln still in the garage?
Pretty good mpg with everyone in it and luggage. I've had my '84 Fleetwood Brougham out the last few days. Nice weather to be driving around. I was getting around 27 to 30 mpg with the 4.1L.
As for the gas mileage difference, maybe some fuel injection system cleaning might remedy that. But that's honestly not bad at all for a 35 year old car. I don't remember whether or not those cars had adjustable valves or not but if so then it's always a good idea to check the valve lash every so often.
Yeah, you will see later in an upcoming video that the new car got 26 mpg coming home, but dad was burning 89 mid-grade fuel compared to me burning 87.
@@tonyscarcare5657 That's actually pretty decent for that car. Because let's face it, town cars have always been tremendous gas hogs. But there's definitely a few tricks in the book you can do to help them get better than average gas mileage.
I have to ask that doesn't look like the original radio, looks like it came from more of an earlier 85 era LTC. Nice Lincoln by the way. Just found your channel a week ago awesome.
It is from an 86. All 88-89 Town Car radios quit working 20 years ago. The earlier ones never quit and are plug and play as long as it's premium sound or JBL. Here's another video for you. 👇 ruclips.net/video/5_Mmoalvge0/видео.htmlsi=UQzl1_sh0xoESnYx
I have never seen the Ford mansion!! Ever!! So cool for us to see this tour!! I have an idea that I bet you already thought about: you give your folks your 1989 Town Car and then you find yourself another 1989 Town Car. What a gesture that would be.........
I believe we have a couple of winners. The car they get will be driven year round in the salt and all other elements. It would be a crime to do that to my car and the wire wheels. I like the way you think, though!
I really appreciate the tour. Unfortunately I can’t afford to do any traveling. So much for retirement. I can’t wait to see what your parents car looks like. I really miss my parents, enjoy each day with them you can.
How’s it going? I just got a 87 town car haven’t had one in the family for years now.. I forgot what lights the driver light switch controlled and it’s not working right now. If you could let me know what lights that switch controls and if you have any tips on what things I should be looking at so I can fix it?
I wasn't expecting to see the mansion from the title. You may attract more views if you put "Henry Ford Estate" in the title. Some people really dig this stuff, like what Bill Ford has done to the old train station.
I'll try that. It is in the added description, which does serve it up to people who look at things like that. I kinda wanted it to be a surprise for my subscribers. Thank you!
Hi Tony, It was nice to see Henry Fords house and property and I hope that the car you are going to look at is good enough for your mum and dad. Greetings from Sweden.👍👍
It actually started working just fine for the rest of the trip, but I'll give it a try. Thanks! It's never had to work much in the 15 years I've owned it.
I used to live within 5 miles of Fairlane, but was never there! Last I knew, it was closed but apparently it's open again. Henry was obviously a genius, yet also a weirdo. (often true of geniuses) For such a supposedly frugal guy that disapproved of Edsel's lavish lifestyle, he sure didn't mind spending on his own house! Lookin' forward to seeing the black TC, and seeing if it makes the grade!
Very relaxing video. Such grandeur. Picturing the Ford family tooling up to the house after a hard day at work. I’m sure those walls have witnessed a lot of turmoil. “Dad, we have to move beyond the Model T! The competition is eating our lunch.” “No! The model T is all that the common man needs!”
Hello Mr. Tony - Very cool video of the Henry Ford Estate showing all the amenities. It makes you think about how he changed the world with his auto manufacturing. Keep up the great work! Roseann & Dan

I can’t remember what the driver door light switch controls this one is not turning on any lights if you can let me know what lights it controls? I had hoped you guys would watch the surprise visit.
What an absolutely gorgeous property!!! Love the family photo as well!!!!
Love the tour, thanks for showing us such a beautiful property. Can't wait to see the car you guys get and Edse's house as well, have a blessed day

Tony if you ever get to Akron Ohio you must go to Stan Hywit hall home of Frank Siberling founder of Goodyear tire and rubber co.
I definitely will. Thanks, Eric!
Town East Ford in Mesquite, TX LOLOL That's relatively local to me.
Not Texas.
@@tonyscarcare5657 Oh cool! Where is that Town East Ford located? You'd think that they'd have to pick a dealership name that wasn't already being used elsewhere in the country. lol

It's still not open to the public, but sometimes they have special tours. They are getting a lot done.
Pray this is the right one
As much as you are at GreenField Village, I think they should make you a trustee and put your name on the wall? But that’s just my opinion.
🤣😂🤣😂 I would be honored, Dave!
You have a beautiful car
So lovely. Could you imagine the car conversations that went on in that house? Just the history gives you goosebumps. Is her personal Lincoln still in the garage?
Clara never had a Lincoln. Edsel's wife, Eleanor, had a Lincoln, which still exists. Thanks, Billy!

There shouldn't be a light switch on the front door armrests.
Im pretty sure there is.. it’s the switch next to the lock/ unlock switch. What does that control on yours ??
That is the window lock. It turns the power off to the other three window single switches so that only the driver can control them.
