I always considered myself a “catalyst for change” because I helped people change their lives for the better and then, in turn, they cast me aside and leave my life, usually angry with me despite having helped them emotionally, physically, and often financially. I’ve never had what I do be described as being a “mirror” person. This made a lot of sense to me. And, yes, I am that person who has stopped trying to show people the light who have shut me out of their lives, they can sit in their darkness. If the care I offer is reciprocated with only using me as needed or convenient, they will all start noticing soon enough that I am not where they left me.
