I had an boyfriend in high school buy me the original Tendre Poison (the green one) and I didn’t appreciate it. I put it in a box and 20 years later, I unboxed a diamond! Spicy/fresh/Tuberose smells so good! Definitely a grown woman fragrance. 👌🏾

Dior Poison is my favorite range of perfumes. I think the genius of the range is that each flanker takes one of the many notes from the original and amps it up to make it the star of the show. If you smell the original and then immediately smell the flankers you can tell that they are different perspectives of the same fragrance story.
I was introduced to Hypnotic Poison in high school. We had an exchange student from Germany and she had such a unique style and totally rocked this fragrance and I had to get it for myself. My go to fall scent! Like a cozy but sexy sweater.
I wear Hypnotic Poison all the time and have done so since the 90s. It gets as high as over 100 degrees where I live and the sweltering summer heat actually brings some of the notes out even better. I get at least one person asking me about it or complementing me on it almost everytime I wear it year round. Alot of it is men asking where they can get it for their wives and girlfriends.
I have spent a lot of money on perfumes already this year but lovely videos like yours are convincing me to splash out even more on both hypnotic and pure poison. I LOVE almond and jasmine notes: they're so buttery and lift my mood instantly

Just discovering Dior, and have a few of the Poisons. I am falling in love with them. Have Poison Girl, Hypnotic, and Pure. Also have J'adore. Dior is fast becoming one of my fave houses.
Get you some Dior Addict EDP and Miss Dior Le Parfum (best patchouli frag, if you love patchouli). Both are grown woman boss babe scents. I love Dior too, and have collected most of the perfumes with no regrets purchases! 💙
I LOVE Hypnotic Poison edt. It’s my cold weather perfume. I haven’t tried the edp version yet. I’ll need to try it. I do love Poison Girl for the warmer weather months.
Hi Soki! Great review on my favorite perfume house. Dior Poison has been my signature for years. Missed the old formulation though, it's bold and full or character. The new formulation smells quite tame, though it still retain a sniff of that old soul enough for me keep using it as a signature. Pure Poison and Midnight Poison (discontinued) is my special event perfume. Hypnotic is my least favourite, the almond and coconut smells to overwhelming on my skin, and since I live in a tropical country where its generally hot and humid all the time, Hypnotic really doesn't work for me. Never tried Tendre Poison, since it's discontinued and some people said it smells quite fresh and green. Poison Girl never really appealed to me, donno why but I'm worried it would smell quite immature on me.
Gotta say the Poison range is incredible love hypnotic poison, poison girl and midnight poison I do own the elixir you're spot on about the sillage and lasting power of hypnotic poison it's a total beast and I love it! Thanks for your wonderful descriptive review
It makes me sad to hear Poison Girl is for teens, I ve been wearing it since I was 28 and now Im 32 going on 33 and love it. I dont think it s for teens necessary and never felt too old for this scent.
I recently got sample bottles of Poison and Hypnotic Poison EDT. Poison I did not like it at all, reminds me of bug spray. But I am absolutely IN LOVE with Hypnotic Poison EDT! It is such a comforting, cozy smell in a way that I just cannot describe. I do want to mention that I remember smelling something like this on a woman when I was just a child and the scent always remained in my memory. I think that's why I find it so warm and comforting now. I really doubt there are many absolutely "new" fragrance formulations out there, because something like this was around decades ago when I was a kid, long before the Poison line was developed by Christian Dior. I will buy a full bottle as soon as I am able because the bottle itself is gorgeous too. Thanks for the review!

I like these original older scents, because these days EVERYTHING Smells too sweet!! Every Perfume you smell at the store smells like vanilla, candy, amber and sandalwood … they all smell the same. So I do appreciate the older scents there is a reason they are classics
I've worn Pure Poison since 2004...Men love it and it lasts! I wear daytime or evening. Fabulous! I would of never of guessed it's flowery...it smells more spicy to me...maybe that's what you mean by musky. I hate smelling flowery. lol
It's probably not really marketed anymore because of how well known and beloved this Dior range already is 🤔 almost every RUclips fragrance reviewer will have at least one of the family in their top 10 list
I got a sample of hypnotic poison edt yesterday and it was love at first sniff. I immediately jumped on your channel to see if you have any videos regard to this perfume, not disappointed to find this video and I was a bit worried about the longevity because it’s not cheap and I don’t want the scent to disappear in 1 hour or so. I just received my Hypnotic Poison rollerball and I don’t hate it....which I was assuming I would...but I don’t love it either.....which is what I was expecting....it does have a play dough scent to it but I think that has to do with the almond....it also has a powdery scent to it, which I’m not excited about because it gives me grandma vibes...BUT, the wear down is actually really nice 👍🏽 Now, I also received a travel size Pure Poison and I already was expecting not liking it...but I surprising really really like it! Great video as usual :)

Love the Poison range and I keep Original, Tendre, Hypnotic, Pure and Elixir Pure, Elixir Midnight and Elixir Hypnotic in my collection. I've got a few vintage bottles of Original and Tendre, along with a few sealed unused that I might sell later on, and also the vintage extrait of the original. The vintages are still as good as they were day one, it is amazing!! Glad I've kept it all, if the original has changed that much. I love its spiciness and would not want it to be a dominant vanilla concoction. DIOR please bring back Midnight Poison.
I use to wear the original Poison back in the late 80’s early nineties and loved it. I then asked an old partner in about 94/95 to buy me a bottle and he bought me the Tendre Poison by mistake. Well i was initially dissapointed but it immediately grew on me and i have never had so many compliments and total strangers asking me what perfume i was wearing. Was gutted when they discontinued that one.
I wore the original Poison back in high school in the late 80s. Whenever I get a whiff of it now, it brings me right back to my teens. Which is sort of parodoxical to its scent notes - it’s more of a mature frag but I LOVED it as a teen. You inspired me to spritz on some Pure Poison right now! 🥰

Which version of Poison is most similar to Memoir Woman? Also, when I look up Poison on google, i.e. what's currently being sold at discounters and retailers, some bottles appear to be green and some appear to be purplish. I actually just ordered a licorice Tonka mandarin spicy woodsy based fragrance from a indie perfume house for Fall. I LOVE black licorice and anise. Can't wait to smell it!
In 1985 I was 19 years old in the US Army stationed in Stuttgart Germany. It was the first time having an income where I was able to splurge here and there. I remember thinking how Haute Couture I felt buying higher end perfumes instead of Drugstore brands like Charlie. I bought Poison and thought I was so exotic and fancy. Also Opium, Anais Anais, Giorgio, Bijan the oldies and goodies that bring back fun memories now at 58 years old.
I dont know why the hypnotic poison edt version did not last on my skin but did last on my clothes. Thank god i only bought the 30ml and it was on sale.

Well this has cleared things up for me. The hypnotic poison I was sniffing was the edp and I kept thinking what is all the hype about? On me it came across like cough medicine because of the liquorice note you mentioned. I shall have to try the edt next time. The original Poison was my mums fave back in the 80s/90s. It's a great line from Dior x

Good tip! I tried hypnotic poison but just found it a bit tame, then again it is winter. Maybe it needs the heat to bring it out a bit

Tried EDP. I wouldn't waste my time. Does not compare to EDT. At all.

Midnight Poison was the best in this range, nothing can touch it. Sad day when this masterpiece got discontinued, it was my signature scent :(

I use to wear the original Poison back in the late 80’s early nineties and loved it. I then asked an old partner in about 94/95 to buy me a bottle and he bought me the Tendre Poison by mistake. Well i was initially dissapointed but it immediately grew on me and i have never had so many compliments and total strangers asking me what perfume i was wearing. Was gutted when they discontinued that one.
For me nothing beats the classic poison but yes all of the poison range are fantastic
Why is the poison girl EDP so hard to come by.. I find that that formulation is more brown in colour whereas the EDT is more pink
I wore the original Poison back in high school in the late 80s. Whenever I get a whiff of it now, it brings me right back to my teens. Which is sort of parodoxical to its scent notes - it’s more of a mature frag but I LOVED it as a teen.

@@sarang8402 fragrances depends on body chemistry. Some people are so lucky that it lasts till the next day. It really depends. That's why testing perfumes on the skin is very important.

Hi Sophie. I'm very interested in familiarizing myself with the Dior Poison line because I like Amouage Memoir Woman, and I've heard Poison is similar to Memoir Woman. Which version of Poison is most similar to Memoir Woman? Also, when I look up Poison on google, i.e. what's currently being sold at discounters and retailers, some bottles appear to be green and some appear to be purplish. Has there been a recent reformulation and/or repackaging? Your answers would be much appreciated.

In 1985 I was 19 years old in the US Army stationed in Stuttgart Germany. It was the first time having an income where I was able to splurge here and there.
I remember thinking how Haute Couture I felt buying higher end perfumes instead of Drugstore brands like Charlie.
I bought Poison and thought I was so exotic and fancy. Also Opium, Anais Anais, Giorgio, Bijan the oldies and goodies that bring back fun memories now at 58 years old.

Well this has cleared things up for me. The hypnotic poison I was sniffing was the edp and I kept thinking what is all the hype about? On me it came across like cough medicine because of the liquorice note you mentioned. I shall have to try the edt next time. The original Poison was my mums fave back in the 80s/90s. It's a great line from Dior x

Midnight was rose pachouli and vanilla which is actually quite a common combination at the moment. Have you tried coco madimoiselle?
