I have the Super Antenna and tripod. I have 8 tuned ground radials I attached to the base . The antenna and tripod is mounted on a tree stump providing a height of 7 and 1/2 feet. Bands worked, after tuning for each using the scale and the built in SWR function of my IC7300 is the FT8 portion of 80, all of 40, 30, 20, 17 and very occasionally 10. Since my purshase in May 2019, I've worked over 6500 contacts confirming over 3400 of these along with 104 countries. Also I have my WAS by QRZ and the ARRL. The furthest is Australia on CW and FT8 and Asia Russia to the east. The key is the counterpoise ground radials. For FT8 I run about 30 watts while on SSB and CW full 100 watts. For me this is my only HF antenna and I love it. I don't mind going out to change tuning when changing bands. It is like the old days, when you wanted a different channel on TV(yes back then only 3 major station) get off the couch and manually tune the dial. DE AC3EK
Hi there. As a fifty-year veteran of ham radio, I couldn't help noticing that you are failing to use two important devices in your demonstration. *First and foremost:* Why aren't you using the *_SLIDER_* to tune the antenna? That's what it's there for! You could bring the *SWR* down to nearly *1:1* by simply using the *_SLIDER_* *Secondly:* In lieu of tuning the antenna, why aren't you using the built-in *_Automatic-Antenna-Tuner?_* The purpose the *_AutoAT_* is to protect the transmitter from *hi-SWRs.* It optimizes the coax impedance allowing for maximum power transfer between the transmitter and the coax. I hope you take my comments as the constructive-criticism they were intended as. 73 and take care!
Slider is not as accurate as SWR meter. In this video, I used Slider to get to approximate location on coil, then use SWR meter to get lowest reading possible.
What is the name/model of the bag in this video? It looks nothing like the bag supplied with the Super Antenna Max Deluxe that I recently purchased. Excellent video.
Good comparison...I’d like to know what antennas were being used on the other side? Was that Nianfeng on the other end? He was my CW instructor? Thank you Kj7lan
i like super antenna. it is just too pricey. i also have Chinese clone of Buddistick called JPC12, costs $110. if i were to choose again, i would not buy super antenna. I used JPC7 very often since it is cheap and I do not care if i damage it. Super Antenna's band is quite narrow. it takes time to tune to the frequency you want.
@@johnthehammer7702 We got a clone antenna here in germany. Very solid built and works fine. It's called the HF-P1 Antenna by Difona Electronics. Store Price under 150.-€. I am so looking forward to play radio with this antenna

thank you for sharing. very impressive. I use Super Antenna just as backup. I have many antennas.

Pretty neat setup. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed watching.

That took some patience and persistence from you both to make that a good comparison, thanks 👍

yes, it is him. he has a 30ft vertical.
I ordered this Antenna and looking forward to hold in my hands may be on friday. IC-7300 is a very fine TRX. 73's de Your Friend Uncle Guenter

That was the best comparison that I ever seen. Thanks. How long was the counterpoise. Are these the standart counterpoises of the MP1?
yes. standard one.
Thank you for a good demonstration of the actual operating performance. 73
So why is there audio feed back !!!!!!! is the other station sitting not far from you ?
the other station is 5 miles away across dense urban area. how do you tell there is audio feedback?
Nice video great comparison on the power bands how far apart were you calling the other station
Distance is about 5 miles in dense urban area with lots of houses and trees in between.
Great demo of the antenna. How far apart are the two of you?
sounds like ground wave to me.
@@forgetyourlife Correct !!!

John, The HAMmer Id have to say ground wave at that short distance.
Good comparison.
