I believe it was used for only the first tapings. The Center Strikes became common from partway through season 1 to the present. Though in 2005-06 the strikes would be displayed differently and then in 2010, the strikes are the ones you see today.
This is the Family Feud I grew up with "I was born in 95 and I 1st saw this in 1999" They need to change the Theme song and the set back to this, This is my favorite version of Family Feud "Sorry guys I don't like the Combs theme it's outdated"
