Any pocket knife over "middle finger length" is illegal in the UK. As you progress through the Lake District water supply is not a problem with all the fast flowing streams, as you get into the Final 5 days acrss the Yorkshire section the local Pub or nearby farm are nearly always willing to fill water bottles. I have done the C2C twice, the first West to East the next East to West. The C2C was very well marked the last time I did it in 1986, just keep an eye out for the signs either C2C or Coast to Coast. Did not see or hear you mention a Camera to record some of the scenic views, but I guess you will have a go-pro or Smart phone? My pack weight was 25kg and I carried 4 litres of water and all my food for the complete trip. Ten days is the average time for the walk and there is no need to hurry, just enjoy the peace and quiet and scenic views. Good Luck with your C2C and maybe next time you will try the Pennine Way, another on Wainrights routes, this is a South to North 350 mile route from Edale to Kirk Yetholme in Scotland. Tony in England.
I found that adding those toe liner socks really helped my feet too!
