So happy they added Honey Woman to this game. She actually inspired a robot in the comics. Vesper Woman.

@@teaoftraffic ikr. Honey/Hornet/Vesper Woman is such a wasted design. Appearently she were scrapped after Splash's creation because Capcom thought two women in a roster will upset the player base.
What year are they stuck in?
It shouldn't be such a big deal to have some female robot masters now. Are they afraid to have both Honey and Splash Woman in the same game?
AND they revert back to robot sausage fest immediately afterward. Buncha idiots.
Come to think about it, we only started to see female stage bosses appearing semi-regularly as late as in Zero era.
Are female Robot Masters impervious to Dr. Wily's reprogramming? Are female Reploids immune to Sigma Virus?
Or the world of Mega Man's world is so sexist that most people don't even consider creating female robots of functions outside of traditional gender roles? Are there so few female scientists in the flourishing robot industry?
      It is just absurdly blatant.
In 20XX, except from the literally one-in-a-hundred outlier that is Splash Woman, the only female robot any major faction ever built is a freaking maid.
In 21XX, only female reploids ever seen in either the Hunters, Reploidforce, or Sigma's Mavericks are those navigators and medics away from the frontline.
In Zero, the first thing Leviathan says before her fight is to tell Zero not to hold back because she is a woman, suggesting even in future so distant, women are still somehow considered weaker and not belong in battle!
Seemingly the society in Mega Man world failed to catch up to the technological singularity and ended up perpetuating old stereotypes to future generations of sexless robots, quite sad if you think about it.
      -----------------------RANT(IF DON'T CARE DON'T READ)--------------------
You can add sexism into your worldbuilding if it benefit the story you tell, but then you should adress it as an issue. One will not for example having all main characters being racists and present it as perfectly normal, even if people live in the story may think so.
Speaking as a man, such exclusion of women does not cater to me in the slightest and just feel jarring, outdated, and unrealistic. Even in real life there is probably higher precentage of feminine robots!
This is clearly a vestige of 80s-90s zeitgeist that can be seen from Transformers to LEGO, which in a sense simbolizes the stagnation of the franschise.
It is up to debate whether or not boys and girls are naturally drawn to different type of entertainments, but it's certain no one is born sexist.
Gamers are not kindergarteners afraid of cooties. Boys only think girls are uncool when the media or society teach them to think so.
It is espacially harmful when boys grow up and go into their presumably male-dominated fields of intrest while seeing no problem with it.
It is a big fat excuse to attribute adventuring to one gender because of "boy/shonen demographics". While medias are moving away from extreme case of Smurfette Syndrome, this argument still pops up occasionally.
Boys. Dig. Badass. Girls. Kid do not care about "Awesome Robot Fighter" is a guy or a girl unlike the insecure adults making it, as long as they are characters they can relate to.
And that is at the premise that girls don't like these kind of story too and aren't just put off by the sense of being left out.
Like it or not, entertainments targeted at kids/teens also serves the role of shaping their impressionable young minds, not by moralistic preaching, but establishing good role models. For instance, if an anime teaches the youth that friendship is worthless and selfeshness is good, it would be frowned upon.
Similarly, at the age when they might start to absorb sexist ideas from their peer, the most irresponsible thing to do is pandering to such notion, showing them a world where their gender is actually more capable than the other, solely for the sake of precieved marketability.
I do not deny there are many well-written female characters in Mega Man franschise, particularly later down the timeline. In this case however, quantity matters as much as quality.
Having a cool female character is nice, but making her stand out as the only one or special few amongst countless background guys while keep drawing attention to it just gives a sour taste, especially in unjustified senarios such as an army of sexless ROBOTS.
Because, the sad truth is, an all-guys squad doesn't evoke the same sense of fantasy as a girl team, but a reminder of unfortunate reality.
I wish Capcom ditches the lame old excuses and learn from extraordinary fan games like this one, by giving us 3 to 5 female robot masters or mavericks in each future installments.
It takes nothing away from Mega Man's core value and enriches the setting a lot, and many different parts of the fanbase will be pleased too.
      For everlasting peace.

For anyone who's still having trouble with Beetle Lady, I just discovered a blind spot.
See those nine dirt pebbles in the center of her boss room? When she uses her dandelion attack from the right, stand on the seventh and eighth pebbles. When she uses it from the left, stand on the first and second pebbles. As long as you don't jump, all six dandelion puffs will miss you.

    S/N-00C Beetle Lady
    Role: Reforestation Robot
    Weapon: Beetle Drone
Beetle Lady was made to aid in the reforestation efforts. She has a special compound that promotes the growth of plants. She can use this to grow giant dandelions then use the jets built into her back to blow the seeds towards her enemies. She can also call in her signature weapons, Beetle Drones, than can track down and eliminate her intruders. However, said drones are prone to getting trapped.
