Saw them live at Stroud. My wife and I rank it as a high spot in our lives. Which it, undoubtably, is. My wife has ms and is in a care home. However, given the chance, will still chat about our adventure.
The movie "Malcom" introduced me to the music of PCO. In non-internet-times I wasn't easy to get my hands on some media of this genius band. PCO is still my favourite group. The music is non descriptable, Raga-like, mesmerizing and won't fit in any drawer. It will never become boring. Even in this years, it is fresh and stil unreached. Thanks for sharing.
Sublime! Love Simon's guitar. Reminds me vaguely of Bert Weeden's(blast from them past) guitar sound but much more subtle. Helen's cello is exquisite, as ever. On fact, there whole orchestra is so brilliant. Can't figure out why I only came across PCO last summer. Where was I for 20 years. Love these guys.
thehappiestcamper I was at Uni then and a big fan of their fellow label mates on EG records. I saw Fripp and Ferry on several occasions but was always otherwise occupied when these guys played. More fool me!
ah the incomparable penguin cafe! and simon jeffe's intriguing riff on one string (with occasional open 4th) - and helen does make me think of a female bob dylan!

This is ridiculously, unreasonably good. The cello player is absolutely beautiful, too. No music is quite like that of the Penguin Café orchestra.

Ideal for both wedding and/or funeral music! Who still can say that!?
I'm having the studio recording of Prelude & Yodel played at my funeral. Hopefully not for a few more years yet!
@@londonemski I wish you a long, quality-filled life until then and might I add you have exceptional taste 🔥 🎶

素晴らしい!
irrepressibly uplifting relentlessly fascinating deliciously clever. So sad that Simon Jeffes had to leave us, we will never no what was left to come.
Trying to link my friends to this wonderful band of musicians brought me here.
sehr schööööön
Wow, Heaven on earth, i can even forgive the Mullett
Does Simon's guitar playing here remind you of Bert Weedon. See PCO cover of Walk Don't Run as well as Bert's cover. Brilliant!!
