Went out early this morning in south Michigan. Put out few decoys, three honkers( Canada geese) two mallards. Moved to a little oxbow and limited out on big bluegills!!!
Excellent! I've never found a huge top speed difference, but the gain in torque (pulling power) is significant! Now give her a good paint and decal job. She deserves it! Best 2 stroke outboards ever made in my opinion.
If you buy a 1/2" piece of plywood and cut it to shape, I'll glass it for you for a light weight deck if you buy the materials 👍🏻. I'm in casselberry, love the channel
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I appreciate that. I need a full sheet, its over 4ft at the widest part but I'll keep you in mind. Do you do alot of glassing? Thanks again & Stay tuned !
My 30 year old Johnson had a little hard time starting this morning( it was 44 degrees out) but once started and warm fine. Those new carbs look great!👍
Hey you made me famous there for a minute! Lol. That outboard sounds so sweet now! That was a fantastic upgrade. Like someone else on here said, if you mess around with some different props you can probably tweak even more out of it. But I was smiling about as much as you were during that run! You’ve got a keeper there!
Hey. You're right, that's what it feels like! Hahaha. Now it's to the point where I feel like I've been hit by a car. Can't wait to be done with Erica's boat. Yes the Johnson is good, but there's something strange going on. The mystery has begun! Hahaha. Stay tuned for that. Thanks again !
That thing is running sweet. Starts like it's suppose to. You got a good one there. Totally nice set up all around. Two strokes are gas guzzlers anyway, might as well have more ponies.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Yeah I just found mine, all the wires had fallen out of the case and I put it in a box to fix it, but they got lost in my shed, couldn't remember where I put it, then while looking for something else I found them. Hahaha! Thanks again & Stay tuned !
I had mine running like a champ. But i hate myself for putting some old fuel in it and now I can't open it up fully before it bogs down. I'm donating the boat, motor and tailor this week, as the landlord is making an issue over it and I just replaced one of the tires too. Oh well. I hope it goes to a good home.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Yeah, biggest problem is running the wire to the batteries and the other problem is she keeps the battery disconnect switch to off position when not in use, so no full time power at ignition. I need a wire puller thing that electricians use. Thanks again & Stay tuned !
Get some solid rigging wire that is used for rigging ballyhoo. You can get it in different gauges. You should be able to find it at any bait and tackle store that sells fishing tackle for offshore fishing.

Hey man , one of your regular Video watchers! Don’t miss any ! You sucked me in! And I’ve got a shed full of old Outboard’s , picked up a 1959. 18 fast twin and 1958 71/2 Johnson ! Good condition on both . Is there any value on these ! Love your Video on the 99 cent fastwin got same one ! Or is it just for love ❤️ of these old survivors!
Hey. Thanks ! I appreciate that. Yes there's value, more if they're running. Best thing to do is look on craigslist, offerup and facebook marketplace for simlar outboards and what they're asking for them. That will give you an idea as to whats going on in your area and a place to start. Hope that helps. Thanks again & Stay tuned !
Hey. I've put several different props on it. Probably did about 5 vids on props. Finally put in a tach too. The original prop that came on it was a 13 x 19. I was just about hitting 40 mph, probably 39.9 Hahaha. Well that prop started to spin out, I had no idea at the time until I did a gps run and lost 4-5 mph. Anyway that original prop outperformed all the other props I tried. Turned out that it was no longer 13 diameter, it had been shaved down over the years and was at 12 1/2 diameter, no telling what the actual pitch was after being shaved. So the new props were 17 and 19 pitch, 13 diameter, but never ran close to the original one. RPM's were to high or two low. The thing about the original prop was the Rake it had, very long rake. It really lifted the boat out out the water. I recently bought another prop on ebay, same part number as the original, it looked great, but it also had been shaved down over the years and didn't come close to the original one. Over an inch had been shaved off but I'm using it. Doin 35-36 mph at around 5500 rpm's. Thanks for watching and commenting ! Stay tuned !

If i have a 1995 3cyl 50hp, i can swap carbs from a 60 or 70 hp of same generation? I have a 60hp sitting here willing to give the carbs to the 50hp...
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I dont see why not. but you may want to check the high speed orifice sizes. if both sets of carbs have around the same size jets you may be wasting your time, and you wont notice much change. You'll wanna use the carbs with the biggest throats and use the biggest jets in them. do some comparisons on the intakes too. Thanks again !
Hey. the 2 marks on the throttle cam are for setting the slow speed timing. the cam follower or roller shouldn't touch the cam, until you advance the throttle handle, the roller should start to make contact with the cam just as it passes the first mark and the carburetors butterflies should start to open as the roller is between the 2 marks.
If you have any guitar playing friends ask them for their old steel strings when they change them on their instrument. Cut them down to the length you need and you will have multiple gauges to clean those small carb holes and jets.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I appreciate it but I'm not taking on any extra's at the moment. Too busy with my stuff! If I can help out let me know. Thanks again & Stay tuned !
Hey man. I feel for you. I did a little scouting around and as usual there's no 1 answer to your question. It's always the same thing, try this, or do that, or, its the this or, its that or?
