Do you have a system of keeping track of your patterned Damascus? Like do you record the layups of the components and then photograph the final result so you have an idea of "Oh, that steel layer should've been thicker, or that nickel layer should've been thinner" etc?
takes me three + days to see all the custom knives. Once at a Guild show I checked my watch and "said - three hours and I have done about 2 1/2 rows -- better get a move on."

@@DBCraftWorld Ive noticed that the more well-known and esteemed a knifemaker becomes, the more pressure there is to have no flaws...maybe a long time ago that was an amazing attribute but today every factory made knife pretty much has no flaws so I wish there was a way for handmade knives to be considered great but still look handmade.

I was very impressed by one knifemaker's team (3 brothers I think)- the designs are amazing but after a while it becames that they CNC cut most of the parts.. Shame, but truth..
