  • Organized by the South Africa’s Clermont Choir Foundation in partnership with the Durban International Convention Centre, the 3rd annual KUHLE KWETHU HERITAGE AND ARTS FESTIVAL was conceived to pay tribute to the legendary composer Phelelani Mnomiya by developing and promoting choirs in South Africa.
Powered by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (provincial and national), the festival in 2022 presented a new challenge to choirs by commissioning a song for climate change awareness. A winning choir (Soshanguve Philharmonic) all the way from Gauteng walked away with a grand prize of R100,000 (Hundred Thousand Rand, ZAR). This is an effort by the Clermont Choir Foundation to promote the awareness of climate change through choral music.
