    I have two big over reaching goals. to gain more confidence in my work as a software engineer and to continue to work on my health, both physical and mental.

    One of my big goals for 2023 is to get back into writing. You could say I'll be working on "healing" my relationship with it. (That's my word for 2023, btw.) I'm including journaling and blogging in this goal because they will definitely improve my mental health, which is another thing I'll be working on healing.

    Thanks for showing your goal setting process! I like the way you discussed routines! I think finding routines and focusing on fitness/wellness are some goals for me! Planners, daily planning/to-do lists, hourly schedules do not seem to work for me, so routines might. I seen some people use theme days like Saturday- chores and self-care, Wednesday- work on projects or hobbies or theme meals: Saturday- pizza and Wednesday- soup. I also seen people divide the day into three or four time blocks or routines like morning, afternoon, evening, and night.

    I have never actually set goals for myself. But watching you, I was able to finally sit down and decide what I really wanted with my life! The last 2 years has been hard! I am separated from my husband of 24 years most likely getting divorced this year, and I actually have to think of what I want to do with the rest of my life without him. I am copying how you wrote out your goals because it feels stress free and that is actually what I need less of in my life! Thank you so much for being you and showing me what it could be like to actually have my shit together!

    My overarching theme, and word, for 2023 is ‘Discovery’ - I have lost track of what I love to do for hobbies, my work situation is shifting, after 10 years in the same role, and we (mostly I) have accumulated too much crap over the years, so our otherwise lovely home is feeling too stuffed… everything just feels a little off currently, so I want to (re)discover what’s what again 🔭

      I was thinking of "me" as my word of the year but somehow I found "Discovery " in part for some of the things you posted!
      I turn 50 on NYE and realize I have been focused so much on my career, grad school, kids and volunteer stuff i lost time to just enjoy hobbies like dancing or crocheting. Having chronic migraine disease it's additional challenge, but Im a life long learner so this is perfect.
      Discover Me!

    I have recently found your channel. I'm not even sure how. I think it's because of Sara Cannon/HB90 and I'm so happy I did. You are definitely my kind of woman. F-bombs and all. Thank you for being so open, courageous and recording all of this for your audience. I filled out my Makse Life Notebooks with you. It definitely took some of the pressure off and made me fill a lot better about doing my goals this year. ❤

    I'm not great at setting big goals and following through.(like loosing weight, exercise, etc.) But I want to improve one little issue. I want to prepare and follow through with mailing birthday cards and acknowledging important events at the beginning of each month. I've always been late with this stuff and its time to fix this.

  • @BLoren
    @BLoren Год назад +4

    I love "continue". It's really good. 👍 One of my main goals for next year is to focus on work life balance in a real way. Both me and my husband are workaholics. Not by choice but I think we both just less stress pile up and are perfectionists and everything. And we both work at home the majority of the time so it's really easy to lose sight of how much it's taking over our lives or thoughts. So my word is going to be something around that.

  • @thekatplans
    @thekatplans Год назад +1

    I haven't sat down and come up with all my goals yet buuut i did just decide on my word for the year which ties in very nicely. Last year I chose "cultivate" and I applied that specifically to my mental health and general well-being which was uh...struggling. I viewed my mind and soul as a garden that needed some serious tending! And, I feel very accomplished in what I did there, however, I failed to cultivate beautiful blooms in other aspects of my life/other goals soooo this year my word is "dedication" (The quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose) and the focus of said dedication IS following through on what I want for myself specifically in areas of fitness, artistic expression and creativity and relationships. I'm tired of waiting for things to change without making any changes.
    Cheers to you and yours this New Year, wishing nothing but good things and especially good health. Thank you for sharing your brain with the internet.

    One goal, shallow as it sounds is to look good. I haven’t recovered from pandemic chic. That includes, putting effort into my hair, clothes, face routine etc…

    Thank you for showing your process. I always find it helpful to watch some of the creators here talk through their process, not becuase I want to copy it, but because I ponder over the same questions after and it helps organize my thoughts.
    For next year, I am setting a goal to make all aspects of my health a priority. I also landed on "consistency" for my focus word for the year. I've found myself lost and adrift these past few years and noticed that in those periods when I was consistent in my actions and routines I felt more centered. I desperately want that again. Wish me luck.

    Thank you for sharing. I love watching goal videos because it helps me figure out how I want to structure mine. I am starting back to school at 40 to become a RN. I know I need to be intentional with my time, and yet able to flow and have fun. So I chose two words, Journey and Flow. You have been a great inspiration, and I wish you the best on your upcoming year. ❤

Today ( Jan 1) your lovely face popped up on my feed. On Friday I was told that after 9 years I will have to do some more radiation on my spine. Thanks so much for doing this video. It helped me dial in my goals for 2023. My big goal is to establish a financial safety net and also to be much more mindful with my spending. While not doing a true no-buy year, I am going to do a mindful spending year. I'd also like to take my youngest to Universal Studios if I can save up the money. In the spiritual space, I've also be looking into a UU church and there seems to be a good community up here in Fort Collins.

    I was happy to hear you talk about your husband as not your caregiver put partners in regard to illness. My husband is dealing with a resurgence of CHF after being stable for 21 (yes 21) years. He is seeing a cardiologist that I adore. The cardiologist looks to me to answer questions as well. He not only treats my husband but also realises we are partners in the illnesses we have. Mainly now his congestive heart failure. Fortunately with the new meds he lost 28 pounds of fluid in 14 days. We are on the right track with this but it is still not good however, I want to take your "advice" ? and incorporate it into our lives because 21 years of stability while it was a part of our lives it wasn't at the forefront of incorporating it in a new light so to speak. I think we had become complacent which wasn't a great thing to have done. It is what it is and we are going to move on now.
