Wow that is huge!!! Such a good way to start my day of wondering down the beach in NZ with this as inspiration... The cleaned item is stunning..your dad is super skilled. I've not seen a mouthpiece before so thanks for that interesting tidbit. PS your scenery shots are getting better and better
That’s great to hear, I hope you ended up having a nice trip down to the beach! The specimen in this video was pretty outstanding wasn’t it, certainly one of our favourites of this species! Thanks so much regarding our dad’s prep work and the scenery shots, we really appreciate it 🙏🏻🦖🦕🔬
Absolutely amazing! I along with many others would have ignored that rock as a piece of shale resembling nothing. Turned out to be an astounding find and goes to show the incredible eye for fossils you have developed. I was showing my Grandson some of your videos today and explained my recent visit to Whitby where we briefly met and he is totally hooked on the idea of fossil hunting. I have promised him a day out on the beach to experience the excitement but will probably be a year or two before that's possible. He was fascinated with the opening of the nodules which confirmed my desire to purchase some of your items for both of my Grandsons Christmas presents. The eldest Grandson at 7 years of age has wavered between becoming a paleontologist or archeologist over the past couple of years. Maybe this will help in his decision making. I will be visiting your site in the next couple of weeks to order a couple of your starter boxes with fossils and ready to open ammonite nodules. Keep the videos coming, I find them very informative!
We also almost totally dismissed it, it was only by chance that we ended of actually exploring it further. That’s great to hear about your grandsons, if you decide to acquire some nodules from us they will certainly really enjoy opening them!
Absolutly exeptional, that fossil... loads of big thanks to your dad, mind... you found it, but it's his hard work that did all the rest... you guys were really lucky there....
Great channel, 👍 just bought an ammonite too! Always loved fossils since being a kid! Not had much luck finding anything down in East Sussex so far in the chalk!

Can you estimate by the size or the amount of rings how old it might have been when it died? Beautiful scenery shots.
Hmm personally I’m not sure, I’m not sure how to tell the age of the specimen
