He is not a 16 year old who killed his parents and 3 siblings. He is a 16 year old SUSPECT who is ACCUSED of killing his parents and 3 siblings. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. And this is unconstitutional to interrogate a minor without either parents, guardians, agency for children services, or legal counsel present. This story hit close to home for us. Broken Arrow used to be a really nice and safe community for everyone. We lived 4 blocks away from the Bevers, but never met the family. This type of stuff was happening more and more in the Tulsa area. Our final straw was the mass shooting at the hospital I worked at for 5+ years, St. Francis. We just moved the family to western Colorado in a smaller town with less crime. The Bever’s house was “mysteriously” burned down, and they built a beautiful park in place of that home. I’m not huge on the death penalty, but these two deserved it if anyone did. So annoying... they came in and explained I needed something with cushions the baffles were installed and let me tell you what! It was like night and day! No more huh? Very pleasant! I didn't have to add cushions and they showed me how to change the filtering in them stays nice and clean! That is for a beauty shop! I cannot understand why government agencies not doing the same! I mean some of the conversations would be life and death! My beauty shop wasn't that level of need but I got them.

Locked in a house. No socialization with society. No schooling or playing with other kids. They only had each other and whatever they could come up with. Imagine barely leaving your house and being around the same 8 other people day in and day out. Your computer is your window to the outside world and no one out there knows you even exist. It doesn't explain killing or planning the kill. It doesn't explain why the babies were killed too. They said the parents were abusive or maybe super strict? The mom didn't work and I think the dad worked from home. It sounds like a madhouse. Still, why kill anyone at all? The kids? So the two boys went from home prison to state prison and that was about it for them. Their big accomplishment was buying a knife and killing their family so they could exit one prison and into another. Not sure what to call them but glad they are locked away forever and ever and maybe even after that.

I read a little about this online and they were a pretty weird family. They home schooled and never let the kids out. Michael had a blank book that he drew pictures of the murders and wrote 2 or 3 words above the pictures. The pictures and words were done with crayon and it looked like about a third grader. There wasn’t much schooling done. They said their parents just had the kids for tax deductions. The mother had seen the pictures and ignored them. The house was burned down and the lot is now a little park. It sat vacant for a couple of years. None of that is an excuse and he is calmly talking about it but it seems like a strange family. The two girls who lived were adopted by the same family. The next door neighbor took the pooch. The little two year old was sleeping in her crib so she wasn’t involved in any way. This kid is so calm and seems incapable of remorse.

It’s an interesting debate as to whether they should be allowed to apply for parole at all. He’s only 16 & male’s brains do not fully mature until mid to late 20’s, particularly the part that deals with consequences. So the theory is that since they change & develop so much psychologically over the years & can potentially be rehabilitated during that time, that they should have a chance to get out of jail, particularly since being kept in jail for 80 years+ can be considered cruel & unusual punishment. The parole process does not guarantee that they get out, and if it worked properly, it “should” keep those who are still dangerous, in jail. But as we know, few people seem to actually be rehabilitated & many people re-offend, especially those who are long-term criminals. I think the issue is not whether they should have the chance to apply for parole, but improving the parole process to ensure that dangerous people are not released.
