  • This is a little video I put together of some good friends sharing a hike up Chief Mountain on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. Chief Mountain is sacred to our people and you can almost feel the presence of the ancestors as you make your way up the trails. It was a windy day on this day so a trip to the summit was out of the question. The peace & solitude of the journey more than made up for the disappointment of not reaching the summit. The songs were inspired by the trek and I also used a recording of the superb flute playing of Raymond Many Bears Jr. I hope you enjoy it!

Great footage of your trip to Chief Mountain, well done. Iam from holland and for the last 15 years we visit Glacier and Waterton almost every year. I sure liked to hike Chief Mountain one day but I am not sure if it is aloud to hike on the Blackfeet Reservation. Maybe you can help us out to give me some information. Once again great video. !

Thanks, I think if you just went to the tribal office and asked if you could go, I don't think they would mind. I could be wrong but its worth a try. its a great hike! Good luck!
