It's so beautiful that when he smiles it takes your attention away from anything and everything. When I was at their concert my UB was Dsehyun and it still is but oh my god every time this man smile my eyes automatically shifted to him. It was the most beautiful thing I've seen. That part about him drawing her. It seems so beautiful and real. A guy whose completely and utterly captivated and in love with his girl. That's deep bro. Many men are brought up thinking that showing emotion, even to their girlfriend/wife is weak, but it's not. Seriously this is another masterpiece from Yongguk! I feel like this MV is speaking to us as social media users... when everything is being filmed it looks happy and peachy on camera and it looks like we are having the best time yet behind the camera there's a lot of stress and sadness that just goes unnoticed and we try and act as if out lifestyles are how they are on camera when in fact they are completely different most times. This really is my portrait and honestly what a beautiful and subtle way to show this.
Before lyrics were a thing, music spoke of love, sadness, death and even madness. BYG took us back to that. Anyone can make you feel something with words but to make you feel with just notes is true talent. This is the true epitome of a musical genius. Much love and respect to him.

So here is my theory (apport to it or debate about it)
The sound is some what sad and it misleads you with the video being so lovey dovey so....
1- SHE DIES. I think this because that one scene where she is close eyed and surrounded by flowers.
I think shw dies of an eating disorder because he feeds her and then she stuffs her mouth with more than she can eat.
2) HE IS BROKEN AND MISSING PARTS. I think this because there is a scene where the guitar is by itself and missing strings, plus the scene where he grabs his chest and pretends to die though then the focus isnt his smirk or laughter of the game but how the hand intensifies as if there was real pain.
3) THE PORTRAIT is a general image he had of her before she died, he remembers doing a lot of couple things, having couple chairs and doing couple things but now he cant so he is stuck on the idea of the things he cant do without her.
Ive only seen it once and i have to break it down more so i would like to hear your ideas or theories about this video.

I had memorized the time stamp in the vlive where he first shared this..always going back so I could hear it again. And now he’s released it in full...and as he said, it was complete without lyrics. The lyrics are already there inside the music. I’m way emotional.
I has been always admiring this man. I like many other idol but I've never admire someone this much. He's someone that I respect a lot after my family. His music, lyrics teach me a lot about feelings and emotion. I can't figure what to feel when he dropped this. The melody sounds like he tried to speak all the unspoken feelings into this piece. I really love how Yongguk knows the art behind music, as in a real melody. There are specific instrumentals that make you feel a certain way. Just like in movies, there are melodies that make you feel happy, sad, and even terrified. It's just a matter of being able to manipulate these sounds and Yongguk did exactly that. No words were said but the melody itself spoke for him.
i'm the type of person that doesn't show my emotions and i barely cry but as i was listening my heart felt heavier and heavier and i started crying. It made me feel so many things in just a few minutes without saying a word.

I really like how it doesn't have that perfect cut & it looks as if one of them is recording or a 3rd viewer, something not perfect but intimate. It's like a memory record ? Reminscing ? As the title suggests 'Portrait' means engraving of a person, and they say that when one's records/take picture of something/someone it is usually of smtg they hold dear. I really liked that!

I still watch this music video from time to time. I dont know how, but his music... this one in particular, manage to evoke such heartbreak in me. I mean how? I didn't feel that way before and yet I hear the strings and the video and suddenly I felt sadness and remorse. Truly a powerful, simple piece.
