Phony Lullaby is a song written by Cathy Dennis for Britney Spears for her 4th studio album ‘In The Zone’ as a response to Justin Timberlake’s song ‘Cry Me A River’ which was about Britney. This song contains vocals from Cathy herself. Another song using the same instrumental ‘Topbillin’ Love' was also pitched to Britney. Both songs were scrapped and then Phony Lullaby was given to Rachel Stevens under the name ‘Sweet Dreams (My LA Ex)’. The chorus was rewritten completely.
