    That brings me back to what we know. The water is backing up at the basement shower drain, which we believe is the last drain before the house-to-street line. Our only clean out access we have is above that. No house in our area has a clean-out access outside. And a pipe snake doesn't move through pipes as well as you think. It's more likely to get stuck and contribute to the existing clog.

    Have been looking for this type of video dealing with a sluggish main line for a few weeks now. House is about 85 years old, so no clean-outs and have had to figure out so much on my own. Even had a plumber come to scope it all out, but a Y-connection in the main line caused an issue. Had an issue about 7 years ago, but roots were not the problem.

    What makes every sink and tub clog with black sludge every year?

    So I have a puzzling question. I have a washing machine that keeps backing up into the sink and then filling the washing machine drain simultaneously. Well when I cut off the washing machine, the sink and the washing machine drains? I’ve checked the stack with a camera and I don’t see where the sink connects to the washing machine but when I snaked it, the snake ended up into the sink pipes? Both stacks are vented separately too? What would cause the washing machine to back up into the sink but then both drain fine when water is not emptying from the washing machine?

      Building codes require 2 inch drain pipes, it sounds like you might have 1.5 inch drain pipes.

      @backcountrybushcraft 3 месяца назад

      @@gregvancom I thought that but the cleanout is 2”. I think I figured it out though. Seems we have a broken snake at the bottom of the drain but for some odd reason the drain is a 90? I’m just gonna have to drain the water to get a better idea of what the issue is.

      You could have a build up inside the pipes somewhere like a partial clog. I don't know what an up pipe is.

    it seems like the basement is getting wet around the sewer clean out , but the builder is saying there is not leak around that area , its causing mold . How do we look for leaks and direct builder to look into for a house in first year warranty ?

      Try the vent on the roof. Usually that’s air in your sewer system that can’t escape

    5:23 my laundry drain is backing up. There is a sink right next to it that will back up when laundry is done so I assume they share a drain. Ran a snake and got about 30 feet in and it just stopped. Either hit a blockage of some
    Sort or a bend I can’t get past. Stuck on what to do. Figure a bladder won’t work cause there has to be a T or something in that 30 feet. Tried Drayno and it didn’t help. Guess I’m calling a plumber
