    I love this video! I can totally relate! My first reaction was at preschool when I was 3 years old. I took a peanut butter cracker off of a child's plate next to me, ate it, and went right into anaphylaxis. I ending up needing 3 epipen injections- 2 in the ambulance and another at the hospital. We went for allergy testing a couple days later and we learned I was severely allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy. I am still severely allergic to peanuts and last year we learned that I'm only mildly allergic to dairy and most tree nuts!

    I’ve used the epipen twice and I found that it doesn’t hurt at all. It shouldn’t hurt if you do it correctly.

    • @AllieYoung
      @AllieYoung  5 лет назад +1

      Just because it didn't hurt for you doesn't mean it's not going to hurt for everyone and it has nothing to do with whether it is done correctly or not. I am a medical assistant and trained on it. The pain isn't necessarily associated with the needle itself either, it's more associated with the force of injecting the epi-pen.

      @samtaplet6117 5 лет назад +1

      Allie Young Really? Because all my doctor say that it doesn’t hurt. Also to make it less hurt from the using it part put it on the thigh then push, their is no need to do the swing method.

    they really made you wait in the waiting room? thats so sad. when i had my first allergic reaction they rushed me right in, gave ma an iv and heart monitor, and i passed out

      It all depends on symptoms and how busy they are! If you’re throats closing up they will likely get you right in, but if you’re only having mild symptoms they may take more urgent cases.

    I am Always so calm when I have a reaction I am the furdest away from Panic You can be, even though once I almost passed out, had very much naussia, I couldn't breathe, or stand since I was so dizzy, But No! I was Still so calm I couldn't possibly be that bad right? As a result I wasnt given epi until it progressed even further. And it was a life or death situation. (I dont know why I become so calm and Collected in these situations, but sometimes it is really not Good to be affected that way)
    Anyways Love your allergi videos

      Sanna Jonsson I am the same way. I am also very calm during my reaction. Even when I’m in anaphylactic shock (more severe than anaphylaxis).
