My grandpa actually had a m.a.s.h unit save his life in Korea. During the war he was the line mechanic on a supply train. There was a catastrophic failure due to the freezing cold and the engine exploded. It also derailed the entire train. He was blown 50 feet and basically every single bone on the left side of his body was broken. He was so busted up that they couldn't transport him for fear broken bones would puncture an organ or artery. So he spent a month.. touch and go.. at a mash unit. Its amazing he lived.. even most hospitals these days, with modern equipment, would still only have a slim chance of saving him
That's so amazing that he lived and that amidst war you have the elements of intense cold and heat to wipe a soldier out . So very heart breaking . So happy that he survived .God Bless you Grandfather.

Kim ll Sung began the whole Korean War in 1950. Old Soviet documents released in 1994 by Yeltsin of Russia showed this of Kim. Kim was never even mentioned on Mash.

The first four seasons with Larry Gelbart at the helm was truly the Golden Age of the show. I never liked it as much after that. If it wasn’t for Charles, I wouldn’t bother watching any episodes beyond season 4.
Winchester was only scripted of course.
I feel that way about the first season. In my opinion, it got better with time, and Charles was wonderful. Never like old ferret face.
