But all this for a minute 30 seconds of work is sort of a let down.😢 I'm gonna be asking people if they need a door installed! Sad they charge $100+ for door installation...

    • @somedude0505
      @somedude0505 3 года назад

      @@jlowe600 it was a good investment. I would say that if you plan on doing more than 3 doors, just get the jig and a cheap router from harbor freight or walmart, if you dont alrrady have one. It will save you time and frustration. The cuts are very smoth making it a profesional looking job.

  • @jimmyatnip2510
    @jimmyatnip2510 5 лет назад +12

    I suggest that you place the router into jig BEFORE YOU TURN THE ROUTER ON. Also, turn the router OFF and wait until the router stops before you remove it. The Jig is made of plastic and a turning bit could damage the Jig.

      Like me....
      Are simply hard-headed...

      But I still have never replaced my guard

      Some people are just thick...

    Not bad I appreciate it. So here's the question of the day for anyone to answer. What is the recommendation for the height of the hinges? Or for the measurement of the top and the bottom hinge at least? How do I know not to go too high or too low? Is there a minimum standard?

    • @Jonehughes
      @Jonehughes  Год назад

      You should simply match all the doors in the house It's just like window headers all window headers should be exactly the same in the house so it looks cool from the outside same thing with door hinges All door engines should be exactly the same so everything looks standard and nothing looks out of place

      Generally you aren’t doing the jamb. if you were, you may as well just buy a prehung door. Yes, for one door a chisel would be cheaper. I guess I’m thinking anyone who did this does it a lot. And doing accurate chisel work is slow.
