My personal feeling is you have to fight every day to keep your inner peace. Honestly speaking as a heterosexual black man from the inner city that taught Middle and HS in public school in 3 counties in the state of Maryland for 22 years, there is so much foolishness and corruption that goes on, its health damaging. If a supervisor doesn’t like you for whatever reason they can make your life a living hell that can adversely affect your mental and physical health, and adversely affect your family, and they get away with it and get promoted. It’s sick. I got voted best dressed teacher by the students 15 out of 15 years I taught HS, and some Principals would be so jealous, I would get bullied and harassed. Some people can do whatever they want in the workplace, even breaking the law, sexual misconduct and nothing happens; let others just sneeze or breathe, and the swat team is brought in! I will be writing a book and doing a documentary! Stay tuned. Follow your dreams and goals, some things in life you can control, and others you can’t.

The teachers union refused to represent me even though I paid into it for 8 years. I’ve been representing myself Pro Se ever since. I’m up against a 1.6 billion dolllar budget with connections to the state, judges, lawyers, and politicians. I’m hanging in though.
Nothing truly matters in this world so do what you need to in order to get to where you want to be. There’s no shortcuts and the reason you are where you are is because of yourself.
