Charlie Cox already said the upcoming Born Again is not a continuation, that it is a new thing I suggest you expect nothing, we already got much more than we deserved, it was a miracle
Very true. If Born Again is bad we still have those three netflix seasons! This is just more or less icing on the cake. That's a really good take, friend!
@@BillyCabinsYT I highly doubt Born Again is bad, but I doubt it lives up to the expectations many have. I for one am just happy we get to see Cox back as DD and Vincent back as Kingpin even if the show has a lighter tone. We can always go revisit the og show if we are disappointed, but in this case I’d see disappointment come more from the expectations than the quality of the show if that makes sense. It’s hard to follow up the literal perfection that is DD season 3 especially when it ends in such a satisfying way
that’s not exactly what he says though. he says that it isn’t season 4, and instead something different. the way i see it, it’s like when a new comic book run starts for a character, did the previous events still happen? yes. will this new content be a direct continuation? no, but rather serve as a new jumping on point.
Daredevil Born Again is make or break when it comes to the MCU for me. If they ruin Daredevil, if they turn him into a joke. I'm done with the MCU. That will be that. Cox also said it would be a soft reboot so the old stuff is still canon
@@SpinoSam No. No it isn’t. Soft reboot means some things “like” the series “may” have happened before our new starting point, as a place of reference in terms of familiarity with the character; but it will all be contextualized as they see fit. Kingpin is on the super juice and DD is more acrobatic. That will be fun. If they can raise those stakes along with the compelling nature story telling we got before, or dare I say improve it in some way even. Well, that’ll really be something.
"How can Daredevil exist in the same universe as... this" Easy. It's a big universe, and there's people on the street that need saving that the heroes fighting aliens and gods will never see. Gang warfare, corrupt cops and serial killers still exist in the same universe as Thanos and his finger-snap of doom. Someone has to fight for the little guy, and the plucky lawyers from Hell's Kitchen are some of the people stepping up. I know it was a rhetorical question, it's just something I enjoy about Daredevil, and why the ninja plotlines failed to have any emotional resonance to them, as they took it away from Matt Murdoch fighting real problems for the people who won't be saved by the Avengers.
@@BillyCabinsYT Thanks =) Kinda ties in to a criticism (or more a sentiment) I'm seeing more and more regarding the MCU, that there's a desire for more personal stories because the end-of-the-world plotlines are a little overplayed at the moment and losing their impact as a result
Exactly. Not only can it work. It can actually help the story telling process in many ways. We’ll all find out when Born Again drops! Glad Charlie is back and fully recognized.
I have hope for Born Again considering the recent news of it having a more standalone approach and Vincent coming out and saying that the script will blow people away, whether I’m right or the show will disappoint me I’m willing to take that risk because I love this character and have faith that he’ll be done justice. I think Marvel knows they can’t mess this one up, they need to remember why this means so much to so many people and why the Netflix show means so much to so many people. I love the Netflix show and I love the comics, I’d love to see them adapt comic stories while also being faithful to the Netflix show. As lack lustre and bad as a large portion of phase 4 has been, I feel like the MCU has been 75% greatness 20% whatever and 5% bad over all. Which over everything it’s produced is incredible. I can sense it’s primed to completely shut up, or change the particular brand of pessimism that some people still manage to feel towards it. Daredevil Born Again in particular. The next Spiderman trilogy has some incredible potential to take things in a much, much more mature direction as well.

Vincent D'onofrio's performance as kingpin is on the level of heath ledger's Joker. and he deserves just as much praise for it.
