Yeh, but the thing is that the app showed that I was outside the marked zone when it took off :) It was a while back now, so the new DJI updates are a lot more clear on the no fly zones. I am glad DJI helps us rather lose our drone than get that hefty fine.
@@fouryearsinaugustaI will say this. I love my DJI Mavic Pro 2… however I also own an Autel Evo 1st Gen. What makes them stand out is there’s no”geofencing” on their drones… in short …they don’t block your flights.. anywhere… the problem with that is “inexperienced pilots” that take advantage of this fact and fly in unauthorized areas. An airport would definitely be out for me. I flew my drone a few years ago at the Strom Thurmond Dam here but don’t remember having authorization issues when we visited a few years ago. It make be further than 5 miles from the nearest airport. Anyways… check out the Autel Evo as an alternative for shots. 🎥😎
You have to have a boat, drop it off at the lower ramp, and go upstream until you reach the dam. Tie the boat to the buoys and cast towards the flood gates. Fall is a great time for striper fishing!
Currently there are plans of rejuvenating or replacing the dam. Not sure of the final decision, but its exciting to know that there will be a change of some sort.
@@fouryearsinaugusta ive got family in the Georgia / south Carolina area & ive heard the samething from them that supposedly they're supposed to be fixing it up & making it operational again. Who knows when or if this is ever gonna happen...i haven't been there or Clark's hill in yrs.. Been waiting to get back up there now for a few yrs now. But living in jax fla & working all the time like i do i haven't had time to make it back up there yet...last time i was at Clark's hill the reservoir was pretty full & they still hadn't opened the flood gates...for me that would be neat to be there whenever they do the opening of the flood gates.
Great video! As a videographer and content creator.. this dude looks like the actor “Christian Bale”. 🎥😎 keep up the great work bro!
What bait did you use
Always used plastic top water, or rubber shad on 1 oz jig. Make sure the head is red and body is white. Makes them think it's a bleeding minnow.
Hey man I'm the guy that was at the lock and damn in the boat beside you
Hey Travis! Yeh, we have met in a couple places already hehe. I need to get out there and catch me another one.

No fly zones are a 5-mile radius around airports. Research the UAV guidelines or use the b4ufly app. It's a hefty $25k fine you'd be avoiding.

Drone pilot here. You are correct sir.

I am pretty jealous I have been to those fishing areas and have yet to catch anything
+Chris Renteria i have got 3 30" stripers so far. Two at the lock and 1 at the augusta canal.
!!!! looks like I'm slacking
You just have to guess the right day when they are sitting there :)
How do you get to this place

It really is getting looked at at this time. The corps of engineers had tests and hearings about it in 2020. Something is going to happen soon.
