This girl would be a LOT bigger if radio stations played her music. Grammy's got it right. Can argue if her music is country or pop or whatever, but she is a world class talent.
country radio doesnt play her cause she writes songs that differ from typical country themes. I think shes better off not being on the radio. She is good enough that she will do very well without it.

i was expecting a funny song because of the title "space cowboy" when in reality, it's a sad song and it's more like "space, cowboy". really clever and heartbreaking twist, great song.

The fact that her long term relationship ended and she wrote so many songs from a place of brokenness then she met her now husband and wrote so many songs from a place of pure joy is so powerful to me. She had to go through the hard times to be who she is and create this beautiful album.

I really like the playfulness with the phrase "space cowboy." I love her songwriting, I love the clarity of the figurative meaning of her lyrics while staying within the simplistic but unique angles on country lyrics.
I just read an interview with Kacey in TIME. She is so real, so impressive. When it comes to the music industry, she has flown maintaining a reasonable altitude, which is noteworthy.

I think she’s not popular because she’s good , genuinely good . She speaks and sings honest and relatable truths without cursing , bashing or succumbing to the fads and trends of the time . She’s amazing and I wish society appreciated “good”. BUT at least we love her !!!! We make her relevant . I’m happy to be apart of making her money ! So excuse me while I press play again ... 😂❤️

I first heard this song while working in a restaurant, but it became the soundtrack to recovery from my open-abdominal vascular surgery five months ago.
My ex refused to get vaccinated to help me through surgery. This was a procedure where, if I got COVID, I could’ve ripped through layers of sutures by coughing and potentially tear my inferior vena cava. Instead of supporting me through surgery, he went road tripping across America.
As part of my recovery, I had to walk laps for 10-20 minutes a day. I’d listen to “Space, Cowboy” during my laps and let myself cry. To this day, I can still feel the cold December air and the softness of my pajamas as soon as I hear the opening notes. It may seem like there’s only sadness in these memories, but instead, there’s peace and acceptance. There’s the understanding that we did not belong together, and in that understanding, a less painful goodbye.
I’m on the mend now, and exceeding expectations. I’ve gone from being bed bound by vascular illness to acceptance into a prestigious school. Not fencing him in gave me freedom too. Will I see him around again? Who knows, but I know my place, and it ain’t with him. It’s with improvement in health and self-advancement, all of which began with letting myself feel to “Space Cowboy.”

I love kaceys music bv it's about real life smoking pot, kissing girls, trailers, proms, problems in relationships. Stuff that people normally won't talk about in songs or on the news. She's real as real can be.

Beautifully written and totally related to my story many times over. I only had hoped and prayed that my lost love didn’t walk out through the door. I couldn’t hold him back. All I could do was watch him leave. Spaces are wide open. I was in-tuned to the words. I really do love Kacey Musgraves voice, her talent and she is sounding country with a sweet melody. Kacey is right on track heading to success with the rest of the greats of country music.

I'm 41 tomorrow...I can still remember sitting in the back of a station wagon with my siblings day dreaming to music my mother would play while she was running errands. Those times shaped my musical taste....80's country music. Don Williams, George straight, Vern...you know. I have not listen to country since the 90's because it became a joke. I don't really know where to put her sound wise, but that early stuff is what she makes me think of. Solid, unapologetic, proud, real, m u s i c. My opinion doesn't mean shit, but in my opinion she is fresh air in an otherwise stagnant genre. I'll die a Kacey Musgraves fan.

These chords repeat with those strum patterns for about the first 2/3 of the song, then when the bridge hits the key changes! You will switch to these chords with the same strum pattern:
