- The Walrus Audio Arp-87 is one of my favorite delay pedals because of the sounds in this video. It just nails that lofi dub reggae sound I love without having to menu dive. This is how I use it 90% of the time with these exact settings. Enjoy.

Haha thanks! Those hohner guitars are underrated!
bendiciones from Bolivia yeah 🎉🎉🎊🎊
Nice performance, the whole band!
Thanks!
Nice! Got a "Belly full but we hungry still" vibe goin on. Love your pedal board too man 😎
haha thanks!
Jon,Great sound! What are you using for drums on that ? Thanks
Thanks! just a drum loop I found somewhere.
Broooo que buen tono, brutal viejo
Gracious!
Cool setup Man👏
Thanks!
coucou quel est votre instrument ou sample qui vous fais la batterie please je voudrai la meme chose merci
Que viagem, tem mais videos tocando reggae mostrando os pedais?
Thanks! I do have a few on my channel. Its been a while but I should continue doing more
were com from the rythm ? sample ? plugin ?
The first note you played on the guitar at 0:07 -- is there a specific, general name for that kind of sound? I hope I explained that okay. I'm not the best at describing music sounds haha! Thank you!
That's a B minor chord, minor chords are used a lot in dub music to add a moody sound.
What delay pedal is that where you stomp into monetary mode 📳 for those eerie long chords. Thanks. Great production man.
That's the Walrus Audio Arp 87!
@@jonwaldstein haha I was so into the groove I didn't read the title or opening. Great stuff dude thanks for the demo.
@@goodvibes4260 haha love it, thanks!
@@jonwaldstein Hey its me "Good Vibes" on my other account for some reason my phone has a different account. I just got this pedal in today. And this thing is a whole lot to figure out. I'm going by your settings to start. Would love to jam over this drum and bass track if that is possible. I want to try to emulate this since you give some good example of how to use the pedal here. I've never been a pedal guy till recently. I have a Funk Lite, Keeley Compressor, RAT Distortion and now this Walrus ARP-87 just using my amp reverb. Thanks!! Walrus is lucky to have people like you showing us how these boxes work. The tempo tap confuses me.
@@xtjbx7531 congrats! it's a fun pedal. I don't have this track anymore but if you just tap a steady beat and play with the knobs i'm sure you'll make some great music! enjoy!
The best dude!
Finally decent reggae dub pedal board without dd20 boss delay. I hate how boss makes delay, reverb even worse.
U have very nice sound and I love your pedals choice.
I have fender deluxe tele into buddy guy wah signed -> than tc hyper gravity mini compressor->big muff(not using with reggae)-> Tumnus overdrive(very nice)->psilocybe phaser (not on market anymore ) -> line 6 echo park and closing the chain with game changer audio light pedal spring reverb.
I am using echo park more than 10 years so Wwas looking for a decent replacement.
What are your thoughts about other delay options except walrus and othe one that u already have? Only dub reggae.
I swap pedals around pretty often. Lately i've been using my DOD rubberneck delay with an mxr phase 95 in the effects loop. It sounds awesome!
The ibanez es2 (3) is very cool sounding! Had it but sold it... regretss but use the tc 2x4 now and its also a killer. Very versatile (sounds might be B class compared to better delays)
@@jonwaldstein Hey Man! It's me again) You made me to buy DOD rubberneck! I managed to find one new old stock not used at all. I am very happy with those features and dark muddy delay tone! Naaah I wont sell line 6 echopark because I found them sound great together! Thanks for inspiration!
nicely done
Thanks!
Raw!
At very nice pace thanks.
Thanks!
awesome bro, cool
Thanks!
Hi Jon.
Nice playing !❤
I see you own a few guitars.
What is your favorite 6-string guitar for this type of dubstyle reggae?
It's hard to beat a strat for reggae music but I also love anything with humbuckers for a warmer, grittier tone
Can you go a stage further and when you hit the 'Tap' button then adjust other knobs on the pedal to create different Dubby sounds?
Sure can!
I'll get back breaking at my next rehearsal when the pedal comes though then! I don't like the sounds you get from a general delay when trying to dub (as a guitarist) but that sound your adding is so subtle ..love it @@jonwaldstein
@@austinwebs123 great, same! it's by far my favorite delay pedal sound. the only thing to be aware of is it is buffered bypass and will increase the noise floor - most notably when turning up a real tube amp.
Bad fah dayzz!!!❤❤
Que pedal é esse que você usou pra segurar o feedback do delay?
Arp-87 by walrus audio
sick! do you have to set the arp rate everytime you turn the pedal on ?
Yup it's set using tap tempo.
Aye this is pretty legit!!
Thanks!
what position do you use from phase? before or after drives for reggae tone?
Personally, I like my phase before drive.
@@jonwaldstein nice thx
This is amazing! Can you give me a rundown of your pedalboard?
Thanks! In this video i'm using the Strymon Iridium as my amp, Strymon flint for spring reverb, Walrus Arp 87 for delay (obviously) and a little phasing with the MXR phase 95.
Thanks so much!
Are you also able to briefly explain how the instruments could be routed together for a live setup? Just through a looper right?
@@kanehenderson5142 Sure thing! I suppose you could use a looper, but better yet - go start a band!
@@jonwaldstein that’s the goal! How have you done it in this video?:)
@@kanehenderson5142 I just multi-tracked all the instruments in logic and setup my camera to record the process - then pieced it all together.
Irie
You have two delays going? whats the other one bottom left?
That's the DOD rubberneck delay. I did not use it here but have another video on my channel dedicated to it.
