The bar might be in hell, but how many dads (even ones who are married to their child's mother) make this much of an effort to spend time with their kids? Do pick up and drop off for school and extra-curriculars? Teach them how to cook? Take time to think about how their mixed race child feels about her racial identity? And even take the time to show attention to their child's other siblings?
You can't deny that these are responsibilities that usually fall to the mother. Devoin is not only a good dad, he's a good person.
I love the evolution of Devoin. The fact that he was able to take accountability and admit that he didn’t do his best in the beginning but is dedicated to being and doing better now with not only Nova but Stella . It’s a beautiful thing , he changed for his daughter . I pray they stay a strong family unit for the girls .

Exactly!! Plus, kids aren't foolish. They pick up on everything and have a sense about people that adults have learned to ignore or even manufacture. Kids haven't really learned how to do that as much. Stella's feelings come from a true and genuine place. He had obviously treated her well. I'm sure more than what we have been shown because she has favored him from an early age. I bet Bri is jealous of this on some level. She can easier manipulate Nova but not Stella. She wants Stella to have those feelings for Luis but Stella is smart. She doesn't give a care about Luis and that probably bothers Bri because she can't say anything to Luis about his daughter wanting him because Smart Little Stella isn't giving any wasted time to that man. Her mother could take some lessons from that child.

i disagree with the therapist that nothing bri says will affect novas view of devoin, if all bri does is bash him it might make nova feel bad for wanting somebody who brings her mom such stress because her mom is her main caregiver & she has a certain loyalty to her for being that. it’s really hard & confusing for a child.

I disagree with you. Although it’s giving mixed signals to the child, the child will grow up remembering that her dad was always there for her. Actions speaks louder than words. He can’t worry about what the mom is telling their daughter. All he can do is be there for her and show her the love she needs. That will overcome all the negative the mom is saying.

I have always liked Devoin even all the way back in Teen Mom 3 days. I have always felt he is severely misunderstood. His love for Stella is so beautiful and let me tell you something that has a huge heart. It takes a special person to love a child that's not theirs. Being a stepparent is an important job because that stepparent CHOSE to love when they didn't have to. Devoin chose to love Stella. He opened his heart in spite of the circumstances. Stella came long after him and Briana broke up but he still chose to love and acknowledge her. Not only has Devoin opened his heart to Stella but also his family. Devoin's family have opened their arms and their hearts and accepted Stella. She is very much apart of their family. Devoin's girlfriend has also opened her heart. Stella might not have Luis but she has a lot of ppl around her who love her. Nova will feel good knowing that her dad and her sister have a good relationship. Devoin is a wonderful father. The Lord will truly bless this man. Luis should be ashamed of himself. Another man has to step up and take care of your responsibility. Luis might not feel any type of way now but Stella's wedding day will come and he will feel some type when its Devoin walking her down the aisle and not him.

It's crazy. Bri is saying he didn't have a place that wasn't either his mother or father's place when she lives with her sister and mother....sharing rooms, I'm sure. Before this house did each girl have their own bedroom? Did they live in a 5 bedroom apartment? Is their house now a 5 bedroom house? I bet they have some sharing going on in that house. It's easy to live in a big house when you have MTV checks coming your way plus get payment for other things to supplement your income. Devoin might not have all of the financial support that Bri has but as long as he's trying that should be enough. He might not want to get a 2 bedroom apartment when the bedroom might only be used sporadically. As long as he makes accommodations for her should be enough. She must not be too worried since she lets both girls spend the night at his place.

I honestly feel like Briana hasn't handled her trauma surrounding her father, and she projects that trauma onto every man in her life. Luis is the only one who deserves it.

This young man is a perfectly imperfect example of what a dad is. These girls are so blessed to have Davoin.
They have seen him navigate his own way through parenthood with the tools he had at the time.
They have seen him stumble, get back up and give it another go.
Nova and Stella have seen Davoin survive 3 very opinionated women….and NOT leave them. Not many men would keep trying.
Brianna’s wall is very high and made of stone and barbed wire.
She makes it hard for people to approach her and her girls. Davoin just keeps climbing! Nova has seen and expressed her disdain at her dad for not showing up. She made it very clear how she felt when her dad was drunk on their day together.
Nova has also seen him nurture Stella and prove they are both worth doing better for.
Davoin has been the direct (and undeserving) recipient of all of the collateral damage Brianna’s sperm donor has burdened her with.
Brianna needs to open her heart to what those around her have struggled/are struggling with.
Like all of this isn’t difficult enough, this plays out….in front of the world!
As for Brianna’s father REFUSING to see her even today? HE is the one who’s “not a real man”! HE is the one who should look to Davoin to see what a “REAL MAN” is.
Brianna needs to either forgive or forget her father. Mourn that loss and pour your energy into nurturing your girl’s relationships with their dads.
Davoin, for what it matters, I couldn’t be more proud of you if I was your biological mom (or nana).
