Galaxy S24 Ultra is the NEW Benchmark KING! iPhone 15 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S24 Ultra!

  • Alright, now we are finally having our third round, benchmarks. We already tested Genshin Impact, and then with round 2, we did several back to back 4K render tests. Today, we will be doing a 45-Minute stress, which consists of three different benchmark tests; however, unlike other videos, these tests will be performed back to back to see how each phone performs under extreme duress. Quick note, I did manually reset my S24 Ultra as this drastically improved benchmark performance! Thus, I suggest my fellow S24 users to do the same!

    I am anti-benchmarks as they do not include optimisation and AI improvements as well as software on both the dev and OS side. They thrash the cores and ignore any optimisation.
    We see real-world tests that the iPhone GPU is superior to the S24U despite benchmarking suggesting the opposite. As for CPU, the iPhone clearly still dominates, which is more critical for most non-gamers. So, the iPhone is a solid performance victory.
    I hope you'll revisit in a few months in the hope Samsung and devs better optimise gaming.

    1:40 Can you explain why everytime iPhone drop the performance after first loop ?
    This happens with all of the iPhone 15 Pro model…
    There is a huge difference… Approximately 1000 score difference between first and second loop.

    • @DameTech
      @DameTech  3 месяца назад +7

      After doing some research, Apple does this on purpose. They drop performance due to power consumption restrictions, but more importantly, to actively control thermals and create a more stable fps curve. This is why on 3dmark iPhones tend to have a straight line after the first drop. This basically means performance will be smoother vs on many other phones the drop or throttling is uncontrolled, thus, thermals can end up usually higher and fps experience is more choppy. Even with higher loop scores, if performance scores are drastically decreasing or increasing this will cause gameplay to be choppy. Hopefully this made sense 😊

    • @TamasKiss-yk4st
      @TamasKiss-yk4st 3 месяца назад +2

      It's throttling, the built in cooling is different (no vapor chamber cooling), and it's start to drop the performance faster. But that is actually not that big problem, first of all that performance still can be maintainable even after 30-40 mins, it's way better like the continously lower performance in every 1-2 mins, after 10-15 mins the Androids fps drops even below the iPhone, and it's not even a stable fps, it's jumping up and down, and more distracting when drops to half for a few frames. And the vapor chamber cooling lead the heat from the SoC to the battery area, what is not too healthy for your battery lifespan (probably tis is the main reason why Apple still not have a proper cooling yet).
      The difference here in the numbers are because of the different generations, A17 is the SD8G2 competitor (just like Note 20 - 4 generations backward from S24U - released with iPhone 12 - only 3 generations backward from iPhone 15. Or you can see the better picture if you go back one more generation back to 2019, Note 10 and Pixel 4 XL released with SD855 and the iPhone 11 with A13 released between that 2 devices, you can't say that they wasn't a fair competitors, but only Samsung released their 5th gen since that, Pixel 8 and iPhone 15 are only 4th gen since that). And also that SD855 was announced in 2018 dec, so the SD8G3 was announced in 2023 it's a weak excuse to compare that with only the iPhone 15, even Pixel 4 XL released with that SD855 10 months later after the announcement of SD855, and based on this logic that device is not a competitor of the 2 months old iPhone, but it's a competitor of the 14 months old iPhone? It's a joke if anybody want to say that..)

      @@raed.gilani it's related to the point that 3d mark is untrustworthy because it doesn't translate the same performance on games,
      You don't understand that the game developers need more time to optimise their games on a new phone In order to see In real world usage the same results that benchmarks give ,
      For example look at Benchmarks of s23ultra that Is now optimised after all that time and how they translate to real games, it feels.. accurate..
      Do i need to explain further?
      Benchmarks show the capabilities as an image , games and apps have to utilise the power to bring these capabilities in real real world performance of usefull stuff but they can't do it in 1 - 2 weeks they need some Time to optimise their apps on the phone, and we have seen all that happen already to older phones so why assume that 3d mark is not trustworthy??
      Because you see a newly launched phone performance tests for tge first time?maybe?

      @@wheely4405 take s23 ultra for example. 1+ year old now, not ‘new’ in any sense. The exact same situation, fps in most games were good enough but not defeating the ‘underpowered’ gpu from A17 soc, except for Asphalt which is more optimised for Android (just like Genshin is for iOS side).
      Also, in 3D mark’s non-stress test version of Wild Life, it shows that A17 Pro is ahead of the A16 only by 3-5% in GPU, while shows almost 40% of gpu capability increase between 8g2 and 8g3.

But my s23u usually gets between 51-53 fps average in Fontaine. If you post a video i want you to test in Fontaine, brightness should be about 70%, and frame booster off to keep the fps reader somewhat close to accurate. S24 is absolute garbage. So much lag when playing codm especially on BR. I had to switch between max and ultra mode to get a stable 90 fps. Not only that but so many inconsistent lag spikes along with unresponsive screens that I have to close tabs to get the screen running up again. If Samsung keeps this crap up again, I'll be pulling the plug from them after 14 years. All of a sudden it went downhill since the S21. I used to adore their products but the S21 changed that.
