Hal really broke the teams spirit, you can see it on Evan and Reps' faces. Especially in that clip after they just made finals and Reps says "you know why" to Hal.

I'm gonna miss this team so much, really respect Hal for making choices for himself but this was an era of esports that for me personally felt like one of those "You don't know what it was like back then" eras that we'll be talking about in a few years. TSM! TSM! TSM!
All we can do is be glad we were able to witness it.
What I love the most is the community that the pros have.
They get along really well, it's insane to think they compete against each other.

Nothing would be better than TSM popping off from here on out. Disappointed in Hal's decision - vibes with DZ just aren't the same and him giving up IGL I think he will regret in the long run. TSM will come back strong.
Vibes with DZ are almost entirely business; there’s not the same camaraderie. And he kind of muddied his status as the GOAT by giving up IGL to join his rival.

Hal was checked out already if he was predicting them to not do well or win. Nobody that competes ever has that mindset. Sad way to leave TSM but excited to see how they do with the new lineups

All I am going to say, I think Hal leaving is shortsighted. If they consistently did poorly over a period of time, fine. But for Hal to break it off right after their big lan victory over some stuff he didnt like in scrims, I just don't get it. Its a relationship brother, you gotta roll with the ups and downs to build something real.
I think the opportunity to play with Zer0 and Genburten was too enticing. Hal has been wanting to play with Genburten for years now, they just settled with Verhulst after they weren’t able to get Gen.
@@freebandz4332 I remember there was an interview with other Apex pros and they asked each of them "Who is the best controller player". Hal emphatically said that Verhulst is "The best mechanical player he has ever seen and I will die on that hill." Maybe he said he wanted to play with Genburten too, but Hal wanted Vethulst on his team for a while. It is part of why Hal raided Verhulst's Twitch chat before they signed him.

I never seen TSM not getting one zone this whole tourney, lots of unfortunate moments in LAN

Def RR was the strongest team in contesting for TSM. I've never seen TSM was wiped out spawn off 2 games in a row at LAN. and also RR is not old team and these player are so younger. it's nice to see that new generation team do outstanding performance at the LAN and they weren't afraid of contesting with one of the best team in the game.

Hal lowkey destroyed whatever was left in spirit. how can you put ultimatums on your boys prior to a tournament. just don’t feel that’s right at all. regardless if you have personal decisions to make regarding your own best interests, you don’t do that to a team you’ve won plenty with especially before a big tournament & the boys sticking by your side through everything....

You don’t say anything at all to reps who you’ve been playing with for 5 years? Isn’t that a bigger betrayal?
Hal wasnt happy with the team dynamic in game for a long time (Hal said that he thought abt that at last champs already) and Reps mentioned in the video that Hal talked to them weeks b4 so its wasnt really a short term or impulsive reaction. He keeps improving on his aim ass- oh sry I mean roller skills and stated that hes sick of IGLing too.
Also for the sake of his online image and relationships among the pro scene it was the best to inform his team about his thoughts and decisions b4 the tournament just to clear things up. Imagine Hal tell his team and fans that he will leave TSM after a miserable LAN performance. Ppl would either blame him for being immature because he leaves right after a big loss or say stupid fanboy opinions like dropping Reps for a new third (just an example).
Ofc Hal loves his mates and doesnt want them to lose their job/contract so his decision is pretty valid since he has a big enough crowd and reputation to earn enough money outside/after TSM.
Not saying youre completely wrong with the influence of the bad news on their LAN performance but at the end its just a "maybe" scenario with some grain of copium. LAN was very tough this time for NA. Only 5 NA teams got into the top 10 (keep in mind that Not Moist and DZ came from APAC S and both have 2 Aussies 1 NA player). The competition was just better at Splitoffs 1 (thanks to the Anti Aim Assist meta Respawn!).
All in all imho Hal chose the least destructive way for his friends and I couldnt blame him for his current or past decisions. He wasnt comfy anymore and was very open/transparent to his team, thats something what many other pro players should learn and do too (RIP E8 on this)

Reps seems genuinely sad at Hal’s decision, it seemed like his passion was low , in his mind he would be like we got 1st , 2nd , 1st last year , won pro league finals , and then Hal decides to tell them his leaving is dependent on them performing well, like wtf is wrong with him , it’s just about money , leaving a teammate of 5 years , like ask reps to step up and igl
Hal stated it was the same amount of money, I am guessing Hal needed a change in team and environment himself so he chose to leave and go into a fragger role, rather than IGL and he has been doing very well in that position. He has the right to go to another team, yes hey played with them so long, but just because you played together for a long time doesn't mean you should continue to stay in that spot if you don't feel good in it.
It has nothing to do with money. Stop talking out of your ass.
In a blink of an eye, everything has been so different now ever since this Split 1 LAN ended. The boys are on separate paths, and it took a while to get used to it once the dust settled in. But at the end of the day, watching this still made me tear up a little. I guess it still goes to show that this roster will always have a place in my soul, the things they've done in their years together are truly legendary and I believe will never be achieved by anyone else ever again. Most importantly, the brotherhood they share (that they still have for each other) will remain priceless in my eyes forever. Thanks for all the memories, boys. You truly have changed so many lives, mine included. Wish each party the best in their journeys from here on out and I'm still cheering them on from here. 🫂❤

in my opinion, I feel like they lost because of Hal telling them that he's moving on and not coming back to TSM. I feel like having that on their mind before a big tournament can mess with anyone mindset. always keep the sad/bad news after the win, no matter what.
