It might be a long time until a tornado here in Southern Michigan. I've wanted to watch supercells in person but never travel to tornado alley. I rarely get a chance to leave the state. I've been excited for the warm temperature on Saturday though!
@@GoldBlueDude I've read about it. I've been missing out on storms living here, but I've been in Michigan since 1994. I've been hoping that I can look at supercells outside, that they might become more prevalent but of course, not hoping for destruction.
Thanks for doing the work Reed. I'm in San Diego we got a late winter storm moving through It's a dual blast with 2 L's... Grew up in Kansas. Do you think this could be a epic Spring Tornado season?
I would think dew points in the 50s would not be favorable for tornadoes. In the Carolinas, it is very rare for tornadoes to form unless dew points are in the mid 60s or higher.

Flint Michigan had an F5(before the enhanced scale was out), back in the 70s I believe..
It was in 1953.

This time of year the air aloft is so much colder that steep lapse rates can still happen with 50s dews
Temperature/dew point spreads still minimal
Reed what do you think about Dubuque IA? Will we get anything?
Reed does Michigan show any threat to storms?
