- Taylor Swift is furious. The singer is breaking her silence after legions of her fans were denied a chance to buy tickets for her upcoming Eras tour. Swift posted on Instagram: "It's excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse." She says the real problem is Ticketmaster, which announced it was canceling public ticket sales due to "insufficient inventory" after a record-breaking pre-sale.
The people at Ticketmaster KNEW that a lot of people were gonna be coming to the site to purchase tickets to see Taylor Swift. Those people posting videos on how disappointed that they couldn’t purchase tickets have every right to express that. The people at Ticketmaster should be ashamed of themselves.
Why does ticketmaster need to be ashamed? What did they do wrong?

They need to make it so tickets can not be transferred for anymore than the purchase price and must be done through their website and an ability to report anyone asking for additional money off site to be banned from purchasing with that account and payment account, I'm sure there could be some other redundancies to help this work like KYC etc. How hard can that actually be?! But lets be honest, Ticketmaster is in on the scalping.
Ticket master runs the industry and have already paid off many politicians on both aisles to let them run their monopoly. Start with a breaking down Ticket master. Obama approved the merger with Ticket Master and Stub Hub

If you try to get tickets the day of or days leading up to the show, you’ll be able to. Their system puts so many tickets in the hands of scalpers, but it’s safe to assume that several people will have something come up where they just can’t make it and will be looking to get rid of their tickets for face value. You can use Ticketmaster for resale and tickets released last minute. I almost always end up with good seats for far less money
Taylor Swift is one of the biggest artists of today, how do you NOT have enough tickets for the kind of fanbase and concert venues she's going to have? Shame on you ticketmaster!!!

@@richgranados11 No, it's because of scalpers mainly, and every band has those problems.
Maybe they limit the number of tickets per email, but even then, it's not enough, they should limit the number of tickets per credit card instead, that would be fair, but because it doesn't hurt their bottom line, they don't care. And most bands don't care because they still make their money.
It was scalped, you can transfer the tickets through Ticketmaster. So all you have to do is buy them off eBay and then the scalper will send the tickets once payment has been received.
How is anyone even blaming Taylor for this? Do you think she wanted her fans to have problems getting tickers to her shows lol? Obviously not. Literally everyone knows Ticketmaster has been riddled with technical issues, many of you have experienced these issues yourselves trying to get tickets for other events.

I managed to get tickets on SCHOOL WiFi and I had to wait in the queue from 10 AM to 3 PM 😭. On my phone too. This was my first time buying tickets

Ticketmaster has been a fiasco for years now, any rock or metal fan knows that. This isn't remotely surprising, but it is still sad.
This isn't the first time Ticketmaster has done this to an artist, so I don't think it's fair to blame Taylor for it. She also expressed concerns about it in the past during her last tour but Ticketmaster opted for the verified fan method.
I payed for tickets to see fantasia and we were sold seats that did not exist so we had to buy tickets that same day but the line was so long because we were not the only ones that that happened to. We ended up getting refunds but that was such a horrible experience and I usually have good experiences with Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster definitely abuse its algorithms power with trickery in conjunction with your devices cache, deliberately withhold available tickets and then pops up later on etc etc 🤦🏻♂️
The fiasco has happened before and it's related to the dynamic pricing ticketing method. Maybe if artists don't click that option of receiving more money than established for the tickets 🤷♀️ some don't

Taylor actually proposed with much more static pricing like was in rep tour, but ticket master declined it and proceed to use “verified fan” method. However it did backfire to them as they themselves have partnered with resellers to sell it on another site for insane amount to avoid legal issues and profit contribution from swift’s inventory on ticketmaster’s tickets
its like ticket master sold the tickets at low prices to their personnel and bots then resell it to desperate fans for thousands of dollars. The monopoly is actually degrading the chances for true fans to buy them at reasonable price!!
There was no dynamic pricing. I got tickets and dynamic tickets say “platinum” and there were no tickets that had that label

Damn I remember seeing her half a dozen times when she'd open for eric church and other country artists back in the day. To each their own but you gotta be a bit off to pay more than a few hundred bucks to see someone in concert that desperately.

I just went to Lany's concert 3days ago & the only reason I was able to get a ticket is bcos they extended their concert here in the Philippines for 2 more days w/c I am really grateful for so they had a 5 day sold out concert!

Exactly. I went to a Ray LaMontagne concert in May and it was beautiful. Small theater. Everyone just vibed to his music, no unnecessary back up singers.
Then watch the artist perform. The signing and filming with their phones can almost be ignored, but It drives me crazy when people just talk through the show
Yrs ago,, I stood/sat in line for over 12 hrs to get Garth Brooks tickets at the NY State fairgrounds. NEVER again!!!! We were maybe the 99th100 ppl in line, all obstructed view tickets only. We even tried to buy over the phone while in line, no go. I swore I would never pay to see/hear someone again and have stuck to that! If it's not free, I won't be there!

When you trust an outside entity with something this big and they screw up royally it must be infuriating, especially since her team asked if they could handle the load and they said they could.

Thank God I'm not into her music and I went to one concert I will never go back . I'm in a wheelchair people kept falling on me I was vary uncomfortable and hurt physically and won't do it again.I learned my lesson .
sorry but why would you ever do GA, especially for a big artist like her, with a disability? how were you able to see? you could have gone for the stands + i think its legally required for venues to have designated wheelchair areas but could be wrong.

Can you explain what the issue is? What is so excruciating about ticket sales? This story doesn’t make sense.
ticket master had this presale for verified fans but the presale had over 14 million people in the queue when more than half didn’t have presale codes causing more issues for everyone. Many were just scalpers who sold the tickets for over 20,000 dollars and it’s just a whole mess. Thankfully some (including myself) were able to get tickets but many weren’t. The general sale was also cancelled meaning less fans can get tickets.
