My mom and I watched your old interview on Lottery Changed My Life and we were impressed with how smart you were at 21 years old. We hear of horror stories about people winning crazy high lottery prizes and being broke in 5 years but watching their spending habits you go "uhhh duh"
We heard your story and we were applauding your approaches to being blessed with a windfall. Good job.

@@TimothySchultz I looked you up because I was like "yeah he won at 21. That money is super gone. Gonna google"
Of course my mom was impressed with your story and self control. Lots of 21 year olds would have been broke in a couple years. She was watching your modesty in awe.Anyway i searched your production company and stumbled on RUclips and told my mom "this dude has to have been one of the smartest winners especially considering his youth at the time"

To me it's not different that investing in the stock market, you work and earn your money, you invest it and if you happen to win the percent of investment versus the actual win is astronomical. Like they say you can't win if you don't play right?

I know for a fact I’ll remain anonymous. I will delete every single social media account and will be changing my name and number. I’m not in a functional family anyway and could careless about maintaining a relationship with any of them after I collect my money. I’ll be leaving my old life behind and the people in it. Staying anonymous should be automatic if it’s possible

Im so happy I came across your channel. So informative. Also, I'm south african and we can claim anonymously, we actually have a choice.
What confuses me about this entire thing tho, is people don't go and ask known millionaires/billionaires for money like they do lottery winners. Just because the person comes from the same county or street as you, doesn't mean they owe you anything.
I would leave my province and not come back and tell no one. My family already know my future plans because I've already made it clear that my intention is to leave, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if I did. Gotta set early expectations to avoid/prevent suspicion because you just never know when a big monetary windfall could come!

In NC, you cannot remain anonymous; you just don't have to talk to the press. If the winning amount is over $50 million, they say to hold out on claiming for as long as possible, because they won't release your name for another 90 days after you claim the prize, so a full 9 months, nobody will no your name.

    Hi Timothy,
New here just subscribed my name is Devin and I've been following for the last week watching ALL types of lottery documentaries of wins, losses, what to do vs what not to do. I was never really big on playing the lotto but when I do I play big or go home!
As far as the choice I agree! ALL states should have it. I think it makes for good TV. Not to make malicious thinking but to stir up controversies within the lives of the winners. People don't knownwhat to do. They're not prepared this system does not give anyone that preparation in school. Now they know damn well people k kw the lottery is real or it would be another conspiracy like car or health insurance!
People who may opt out of playing may be thr ones whom had the wrong thinking such as I long ago that it's rigged, or there's a force keeping me from winning.. or I just haven't found the right formula.. maybe? A third party is an excellent start! Or how you said about the trust in some states. Make that option unanimously available.
I believe this part if the process may bebthr start of some people who've may never been recognized or in the spotlight of any kind uneasy and overwhelmed in some of the grief you've mentioned in past lottery interviews. Such as instant wealth, guilt, and constant nagging of needy hands! I love what you do and I keep in mind what you say and other winners taking key points learning more and more because I am a super lottery winner that you will hear of soon enough. I've had an interview with you numerous times in my mind and my story is already ready!

Hello and thanks for your thoughtful comment! I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed my videos. I agree with your points here. After that lady in MA won the big lottery win, you can now claim through a trust in MA...but STILL not anonymous.

    • @BonnieHalfElven
      @BonnieHalfElven 3 года назад +1

I saw a story about what triggered Australia to make that policy. A child of a winning couple was kidnapped and murdered. They believe it was the publicity that made the child a target. Despite all the winners who have been murdered (including one who had the option to remain anonymous, but did not choose to do so), it will probably take the murder of an innocent child in the US to make it happen more country-wide here. It's almost like a winner was lucky, so they'll have to deal with the risk. That's not the right attitude at all!

I have horrrable anxiety! I live in Texas...it says I can be anonymous. When I win..I will have a home built like my childhood home I lost 12 yrs ago and still to this day I miss it soooo much! OR just buy it back!!! And fix it up (lady who bought it has let it go down😥) It would also not be about Fancy things I can buy BUT the quality of my life. I have horrrable back pains, I could finally afford a massage everyday to help me. I could eat healthy foods like fruite and veggie juices(detox my body) and help me with my debilitating OCD depression and anxiety. Not worrying about how expensive a massage is or healthy foods would be sooo nice! With my anxiety, I would definitely be anynomous!!!!✌️ No one likes to be haressed.

Its a form of state taxation & funds government things that the state has closed finance on , like education . Then in the usa you lose half again ( tax ) on winning unlike here in the uk & canada. No win tax. Or being on tv if u dont want to be. Theres alot of pressure from say camelot / national lottery here in the uk to go public. Personally id move to switzerland under golden visa program. Ironically camelot uk is owned by canadian teachers pension fund.

Thanks for your question! I think this depends on many factors, such as how much you win, where you win, who surrounds you, your background, etc. For myself, I dealt with all kinds of things, including relationships that were ruined. It wasn't all negative though; I had some very positive people who were supportive and new relationships formed as well. It's an interesting subject. I've been exploring it quite a bit in a book that I'm writing.

If I wanted to be anonymous I would just leave the place where I won and move to an urban area across country. People in California don’t pay attention to events in Vermont. Maintain connections with people you want to do so with and create a new community in a new place with some new people. People are not entitles to know your business just because they are curious.
