We have slip knots on paracord attached to our milk stand to "tie" the back legs, easy peasy. It takes no time at all to slip them on and off. I use them because even the goats that aren't kicky have put a foot in the milk before.
To help with getting Mavis breed, you should keep her in a stall with him. I keep a buck with my does for 2 months just to make sure they are actually bred.
This is really informative, so thank you... but I have some questions. 1. How do you get her separated from the pack? my goats want to be together so if I grab one and put on the stand away from others, she would want to jump down and go back. Is there a way to lore her with food so she would be ok being away for a bit? 2. What kind of a treat do you use?
I have a first freshener this year and she is fine standing and eating on the stand but as soon as you touch her udder she lays down. It got so bad I dried her up. Hopefully she will be better next year.
We have a doe that will just lay down everytime we try to lead her! In the show ring she's horrible! She's got one of the greatest udders, but she'll try to lay down on the stand when it's time to milk too. We have started already the practice routines on the bred ones, getting them used to it.
Well, this was a nice little refresh.
I'll have multiple FF come march. May try some of these methods. :)
Bron is so handsome!

They get their grain on the stand and are happy to leave and go get it 🙂
