Disc fragment is like a blown tire. The fragments need to be removed to eliminate the nerve irritation. I commend Dr. Johnson for working with a good neurosurgeon. Chiropractic can help most people but something surgery is indicated. He was open minded enough to see that. Shekynah got the best combination of treatment for her condition. This was a great case study to follow, and she is doll. God Bless!
I've never clicked on a chiropractic video so fast, I'm glad to see Shekynah is doing so much better from her first video! If you haven't seen the previous 3 videos you should check them out to see her amazing progress. Good job Dr. Johnson and Dr. Cech. Keep progressing Shekynah. :)
Is it weird I just want loads more Shekynah videos? She seems so nice and its so good to see the obvious quality of life improvements since the first video.
Just watched all 4. Man what a difference not only in stature but also physical appearance and complexion. I mean a total transformation. Good for her.
Awesome improvement! You can see improvement in every aspect of this young lady. Personality, appearance, everything's glowing in her. Wonderful work and healing.
I'm so happy for her. Her posture in the first video made me feel for her. Glad she's doing much better. A testament to why healthcare providers should work together.
Agreed. Sometimes invasive/surgical correction is required and providers need to communicate with each other to determine what is the best option for the patient. While I wasn't the exact same case as this young lady I had a badly ruptured L5-S1 which required a single level laminectomy to clear. In my case a traditional microdiscectomy was not going to provide a large enough opening to clear the disc from the nerve. I went to a chiropractor for some time hoping that they could help with my issues. At the time of surgery I was only 38, so all my doctors really didn't want to do a laminectomy. Unfortunately previously in my life I did a 8 year stint in the Army which contributed largely to the issue. The first neurologist I had just wanted to throw drugs at me with physical therapy. While this has a place and time it was offering me zero relief. I was hurting so bad I was couldn't hardly walk and at the very end needed a cane. Even with 3 young kids I was very close to putting a gun in my mouth due to how badly it hurt. Yes folks extreme sciatic nerve pain coupled with random spasms (very sharp) and sudden unexpected jolts of additional pain will put you in a dark place. My cynical wife said "it can't be as bad a child birth". I basically told her "Nope it's worse". With child birth there is a definite end to the process and at the end you have a little present to show the world. With these type of situations all you get to have is more pain and more pain with no real end.
Dr. Can you teach people how a success story like this often times leads to another fight for the patient which is weaning off the opiates that they needed for the length of time they needed it. I have a very similar story as this young lady but have a lifetime of addiction that I have to deal with. Nobody knows that even if you take the meds as described you WILL become dependant on them and getting off of them is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Your such a great teacher and a lot of people that have these debilitating issues are watching you. You could potentially help many people choose not to take those meds and somehow find a different approach to their pain. Thanks Dr.
I've watched all her videos. That is an entirely different person you're sending out that door than the one that "hunch-backed" into your office. God bless you and all you do to give people's lives back to them. God bless you too Shekyna! I hope your return to functionality is permanent and your visible joy is an inspiration to all of us. Now go take life by the horns and shake it until it gives you just what you want.
Well as far as I understood, it was a significantly minor surgery in nature than the one she was originally scheduled to have. They didn't put any metals in her to try to compensate for her nerves and her bones not being able to respond to each other to keep her upright. It was also for a different issue than the one she originally came in for. So as much as I feel you on that, I think it was the best case scenario.
Jason Ruiz she came in with a l4/l5 herniated disc and she had a microdiscectomy which is the most common surgery for a herniated disc. A fusion (screws and rods) is done when the microdiscectomy didn’t work or if there isn’t enough disc material left( DDD)
Glad I found this. She is glowing now. Having had to have a C5-C7 fusion I know how she felt. I'm so happy she did not need anything like I needed. I hope she does great.
You are doing amazing each video you look better and better and now you have more colour in your face and more of a smile and a nice laugh. Im really happy that this and the surgery have helped you, well done for being so positive and understanding of it all x
I'll admit, I have always believed in Chiropractors. After watching your channel and a couple others, I've been inspired. I want to pay a visit to get myself adjusted and well, fixed for lack of a better word. Anyways! My father has several herniated discs, several ruptured discs and a thecal sac wrapped around his spinal column. The love of my life has lived with a sever case of scoliosis they're entire life. I can't bear let alone break out in tears seeing them in the pain they are in, and I know not one person can "save" everyone let alone one person. But, you sir, have been an inspired me. I want to help people heal and overcome their injuries so they can live their lives happily as they see fit I want to thank you for the amazing person, and what a great doctor you are,and what you do and continue to do so.
I hope this young lady is enjoying good health. They did what they needed to do. Get those disc fragments off her nerves had to be a huge help, pain wise. She's getting great health care from her surgeon and from Dr. Johnson. I think it's great that she'll be doing water therapy.
I need this. My lower back is painful almost daily. Smh. It's worse in the mornings getting out of bed. I will have to see a chiropractor soon. I'm happy that she has great relief.
Just watched her whole story. I was shattered when I seen the next preview saying “ after surgery” But now hearing there was disk fragments found I’m glad she’s fixed!
You could tell that she is one of the rarest girls out there that does not 1 people to feel bad for her sorry for her ask her I'm so sorry for you you could tell she keeps it to herself and tolerates all the pain. That is unheard of nowadays and I am a guy and I've hat back pumps in the past not anymore pink eye but nothing as severe as this beautiful girl and I can tell you it hurts like hell and I what tell everybody how it felt when I couldn't walk straight I'm not her she does not want to let people judge ER by her appearance... and what they do not know by her physicality she is such a brave individual I know I couldn't do that and I'm a strong man God bless you girl for kicking ass
When did they know about the fragments? Did they know before the 3 visits there were fragments in her disks. If so, why continue with pre-surgical chiropractic adjustments? What caused the fragments? Do fragments show up in x-ray?
As a Professional Driver, yes, it does definitely aids, assists these treatments. My first time, I was very scared, really decent Chiropractor, he was a really big guy, arms the size of tree trunks. He was moving me on the table like I was a piece of paper, lol. I re-named the adjustment treatment to, "The Attitude" re-adjustment treatment, lol!!!! These treatments have given me a better, more healthy attitude, to pay attention to how I am sitting for hours on end everyday.
@@JammyTom I have heard it ended being only a minor surgery compared to what was originally scheduled, which is ideal for how bad she had it. The work by Doctor Johnson sure did make it easier.
Awesome to see her doing well after surgery. I bet a good adjustment every now and then she'll feel as good as new. Hope she doesn't develop neck issues as they are much harder to bounce back from (just trust that when it comes to spine surgery I know what I am talking about!). I wish her the best of luck in the future.
I need to get adjusted. It has been a while now, I can't remember how long, I just remember the loud cracks. The woman in the office even heard it. I felt so good after.
Wow she looks wonderful! What a lovely young lady, I hope she's doing better! She's so pretty! As a fellow human with a unique name (my name is Tremayne) I can really say that, yes, I am in love with her name too! So glad to see her! I'd love to see the naysayers double down on their opinion on how chiropractic doesn't help in situations like this!

Ye as Jason said I think it was minor, and she had little pieces lying around so it's really necessary to remove those, only way is surgery.
