    Very interesting to see the difference in required safety equipment between areas. From Ontario, Canada and our requirements change based on length, but as far as I know none require a throw cushion or a skier down flag but ALL require some means of manual propulsion (ie a paddle)

    You produce great videos! Love the boating 101/Tips series even as an experienced boater. One thing to point out, I don't know if it is a violation or just a recommendation, life jackets shouldn't be stored in a plastic bag per the coast guard.

      Those are just my back-ups. If I had extra people, I would take them out of the bag so they would be readily available.

    Hi, greetings from Doha, Qatar. Great channel!
    Could you do a video on the kinds of things you do to prepare for a single day trip. Do you have a standard checklist that you use? (i.e. supplies to pack for the boat, things to check before leaving the house, things to do at the boat ramp or beach before launching, how to retrieve and checklist after retrieval at the boat ramp and back at home. I would like to have a go-to checklist so I know I'm covering the basics for a good day on the water (especially if I decided the day before that I want to go on the boat the next day).
    Thanks.

    Hey new boat owner here, do you have any suggestions for taking dogs on boats? As far as preventing them from scratching upholstery?

      Hi! Welcome to boating!! Keeping the nails trimmed short will be the best thing. You can get little booties for them to wear. I don't see a ton of dog nail scratches in vinyl, but they can scratch up the soft grip, particularly on the swim step, as they try to climb in after swimming.

    Hello Chantel, love the videos!!!! I am new to v drives and have always had outboards. I am concerned about rudder position and don't want to run into somebody or something. Do you recommend a rudder position indicator?

      It would be cool if you could find one! That's something I wish came standard as it would be nice!

      They are currently out of stock, but we should have some back in stock soon.

    What is the list of tools you keep in your toolkit?

    Hey Chantel, I was wondering do you put jacks under your trailer or let it sit on the tires all winter? Thanks! PS I use the same dewalt bag for my tools haha!

    • @ChantelBoats
      @ChantelBoats  3 года назад +1

      I just leave it as is. As long as you have good tires at the right pressure you shouldn't have any issues.

    What is the 'jacket' you put on?

      It’s a towel poncho! I love it because I can put it on after I ride and I don’t have to worry about holding a towel up while I drive! Lots of different brands available, but here’s one of them:
