The value in the square root need to be zero.So it is not necessary that both (x-2) and (x+4) should be greater than zero. Even if they both are negative, we still get the answer positive. So the answer should be x∈ {(-∞, -4] U [5,∞)} U {(-∞,-2) U (7,∞)} x∈ (-∞,-4] U (7,∞) This should be the ultimate answer. You can verify by using wavy curve method. I didn't expect that Unacademy would give this quality of wrong information.
