I'm so glad to see someone else take the casing off the sausage as my husband thinks I'm nuts doing it BUT he never complains about the food after I cook it 😂. He just won't take the time to do it if he's cooking. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who does this. Im definitely going to make this and the biscuits as they are both slightly different recipes then what I use. Thank you for sharing!
Yummy biscuits! I like Turkey sausage and I make mine with that. So delicious for breakfast! Thanks for the recipe and video! My husband likes that and eggs on the side:) Nice to be able to make your own buttermilk and self rising flour for all of your baking needs. I have never used a cast iron for biscuits that is a great idea!
I make my biscuits with butter exactly like you do only smaller amounts. Just two of us now. I make gravy same only I use rolled ground sausage . Jimmy dean. Maple flavored. Except I don’t remove my sausage when making the gravy . Looks delicious
Biscuits and gravy is my favorite breakfast. You should call your biscuits "Denver biscuits " because they are a mile high 😅 I never tried my gravy with maple sausage, we kind of prefer a sage heavy flavor, so I always add extra to my sausage gravy. We usually use a turkey breakfast sausage, as most other sausages have MSG in them (at least most the once in my area used to), and we have someone with an allergy to it. But I did check the label, and the one that you use does not. So I might just give it a try if I'm adventures next time, but no promise. Just like you said you will never change the sausage, I feel the same of my tried and true 😊😊 Either way its the best breakfast food.

I just watched your pre-made dry mix video with this video attached to it. You do the same steps as this video just use the ingredients you said in that video?
@trishalandis275 If you want to make just a single batch, you can follow this recipe in this video to try them first. If you want the ingredients for a large batch to put up in your pantry, then the dry mix video will give you those measurements. Hope that makes sense.

Love that name, Denver Biscuits! Sage sausage is delicious 😋 never tried it with my gravy, but I may have to switch it up next time I make it. 😊
If using chicken or turkey mince you could also use some chicken stock powder in the gravy and add it to a cob loaf for a dip at bbq's
Angela, you can buy buy Jimmy Dean's Maple sausage in 1 lb chubs, then you don't have to deal with the casing.
